Why would he want to stay for a third season? He's already the best player in his conference so you can't go up from there. I'm sure he wouldn't learn a ton next year playing against inferior talent.

He's giving up millions every year that he plays college ball when he should be in the NBA. His career could be shortened by injuries so I'd be getting all the $$$ I could. If he's projected top-5 then he's out of his mind if he stays.

derrick williams has always said he wants to stay.
He loves his team, and wants to be a part of something special (the rebirth of an Arizona program).
ARizona has other bigmen next year and a real pointguard (and will be the favourites for a title), so he has a lot of reason to stay.

Unfortunately, when the money is on the table, its hard to turn it down.

Ya i know that he was only a 3 star recruit. He should be jumping at the chance to declare. When you come in as an unheralded prospect scouts are always trying to knock you back down. His friends should tell him to get paid.

Jake Locker and Sam Bradford did not enter the draft either. Do not compare college basketball with college football. Football players stay in school much more often than basketball players.

I think there is a case to be made on Derrick William's fit on this team. I would compare him to the usage of how we would ideally have wanted Kleiza to turn out. I'm not comparing them as players, but only how they could potentially be used on the Raps' lineup.

Williams is a strong/big 3-4 forward that can get to the rim, perhaps by not blowing by defenders, but certainly can by using his strength. He could post-up guys even bigger than him. Has the skills to operate in the post, since our center isn't really a traditional post-up big. Can shoot the occasional (corner) three-ball, especially if left open. And could even play the 4 in a small-ball lineup, where one of Ed or Amir switches to the 5. This to me is what we hoped Kleiza could do for us. DWill will be the better player, so that certainly bodes well.

Don't knock Corlis. He was a really solid pro. Not many guys have an MIP and an NBA 6th Man award, not to mention being the 6th man of an NBA championship team.

If he could be a "big" SF then his potential is really good.

talented kid no doubt,but not what we need..demar would probably love another california guy..he`s skinny, don`t` like his confidence..nice vision and good defender but that`a it..

I don't follow college ball very closely but since everyone is always talking about how we need to get Kyrie Irving I was reading up on him and checkin out some vids. Very impressive, but from what I read his injury is both very serious and very unusual, and nobody is willing to say how long it will take to get better, or even to say they know exactly what is wrong or how to fix it. I'd feel bad for the kid if his career is messed up even before it starts, but from a Raps perspective, isn't this a serious concern?

no, it's just his toe it won't end his career.
I mean worst comes to worse they can cut it off, not that that would ever happen.
