I know they will badly over pay Richards.... but he is the player available that this team needs. A good two way player that is a leader and can be the face of the franchise. Kessel is too shy and Phanuef too gruff to be out there the way Mats, Gilmour, and Clark were.
I don't know if anyone else has the cap space and willingness to shell out a lot of money for Richards. Dallas won't because of their ownership problems. Singing Richards for 35/5 or even 37.5/5 would be market value.
