Haven't posted in a few days but clearly, a lot has been talked about since I've been gone. This latest "news" about the meetings with Melo during All-Star weekend is just absurd. I'm sure they'll have some meetings but the way the media builds this up like the climax of a movie is funny. Don't get worked up over this crap. This is their finale to the Melo saga, much like they had one with LeBron. So much drama....so much trash being reported to tweak people like us. Don't let it get to you.

Based off of everything I've been reading the past few days, I'm more confident than ever that Melo will be a Knick and most likely at the deadline for a very fair price (as far as the Knicks are concerned). No way Donnie gets played out in this. He's done an excellent job. Like I've been saying all along...keep Fields and Mozgov. Keep Gallo too and we really made out like bandits which is what Walsh is trying to orchestrate. Personally, I think he shocks the world and reels Melo in for a package that will make TheRebel chop his own penis off. If he even has one to begin with.

Glad to see you are so optimistic about the situation. Quite honestly at this point I pretty much have just said **** it and I'm trying to remain neutral so I don't get my feelings crushed again.

I hope this works out for the best for the Knicks, but the longer this drags on the worst I feel about it.

My guess is that he is taking the meeting with the Nets to humor them. He'll then say I've heard both team proposals, and want to go to the Knicks. That way he comes out looking like a good guy. Then it's up to the Knicks to come up with the right package. That's where Dolan comes in and sells the farm.

I like the fact that Denver is back in the picture (despite the Harris/Portland rumours) because to me that's just a desperate attempt to drive the Knicks' offer up. Melo has waited all this time to get traded to the Knicks he is not going to crack at the last minute and accept an extension with the Nets.

At this stage I'm pretty confident of our chances of getting him. I know some people think Dolan will force Walsh's hand and gut the roster for Melo but I honestly think Dolan is not that stupid. I think he is happy to let Walsh use his experience and do all the negotiation from his end.

I think its so Dolan can make sure that Melo knows that they are still full on board with him...just in case Melo has any doubts about whether the Knicks really want him. This is a good thing (as freightening as Dolan being involved in anything may be). It shows Melo that the Knicks want him so much ( and we all know that Dolan is dying for Melo) that the big guy himself will say it in person and to his face.
