I'm hearing deal in place, but no meeting set yet. Can Jay-Z finally come through and get the superstar's approval?

Same guy, a minute later.
Pardon, deal "essentially" in place is what I was told.

I am 100 percent certain Nets and Nuggets have an agreement in place. Deal is pending Anthony's approval.

Since Denver wants this to go down to the wire, I'm forced to change the terms of the deal.

The Ham Sandwich stays in New York.

Instead, Denver has to take all of Godzilla's eggs incubating in the bowels of Madison Square Garden.

And maybe I'll still throw in Pharmcat.

Someone should do a statistical analysis of the number of pages in the Carmelo thread written after an inflammatory story but before it is subsequently denied by a second, completely contradictory story.

NETS SPOKESMAN: 'NO DEAL IN PLACE. NO MEETING SET UP.'

2:15 pm

A team official who is up-to-date on the talks between the Nets and Denver Nuggets regarding All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony told The Star-Ledger that no deal has been agreed to between the teams and as of now, no meeting has been set between Anthony and the Nets to discuss whether he would sign a contract extension if he were traded to the team.

Worth reposting so people can calm down.

Update:

Denver counters with: "We demand the first born sons of the ENTIRE VILLAGE!!!"

Does anyone think the Knicks and Nugs would agree to a trade only to have Melo say "nah, I'm only extending in Memphis" or something?

Agreed. The reason for meeting with Prok would be to try to convince Melo to extend in NJ. The Knicks don't need to pitch New York to him.

NYK Dolemite wrote:Honestly, doesn't take a lot to see there is a lot of bull in the air. Guess that's what it will be til it's done, tho.

That being said, if the Nuggets allow Carmelo to talk to the Knicks beforehand, they are either a) dumb or b) have convinced Melo to tell the Knicks "The extension is where it's at -- Jersey is close enough so either trade for me now or lose me to Jersey."

If it's B then screw him.

Agreed here as well.

I'm thinking we send them Curry, his limo driver and the rights to Isiah Thomas the GM. They will probably be needing one soon anyway. I figured we could help out.

As Knick fans smell blood they circle like a great white shark ... ready to tear the Denver FO apart limb by limb....

Meanwhile; in a Galaxy Far Far Away.... the Melocision

While the rest of the NBA, GM's players and agents all lurk outside the kill zone ... as smaller sharks are known to do .... to eat whatever the great white leaves behind.....

Somewhere in Denver a humble Nigerian prince is being used as the bait... while the evil Kroenke empire smokes, snorts or drinks whatever hallucinogenic substance is available to them.

On another very important note, weather is so nice out. Who is going to get drunk at happy hour soon?

You have insulted the integrity of my kitchen management skills.

The sandwich is alive and kicking and ready for action.
