He could squash all this nonsense with the Nets and give the team he wants to go to (New York) extra leverage so they don't have to give up more assets to get you. All you have to do is say you are NOT signing an extension with NJ and you do NOT want to go there. Yet he doesn't do this, I just don't see what hes doing here. He doesn't want to be vilified like LeBron was? Hes looking like a gigantic pussy right now and trying to be too politically correct.

Maybe he's using the Nets as leverage to get the Knicks to make the trade no matter what to get him. If that is Melo's stance the Knicks have to decide are we willing to sell the farm to get Melo IF Melo is ok with that? Or do we let him go if the money and getting traded NOW is most important to him.

I'm still not buying that he will extend with Nets. Not after he has come so far.

Either way though, we'll be fine.

I'm cooking up some stuff in my secret lab. Someday that may be me or my movie you are watching at the multiplex or on your TV.

Well if you're ever shooting in Chitown let me know. I'll AD the **** out of it.

Yeah? OK, Chicago's acting pool interests me more than NYC and LA actually. Its on my radar. Did you train as a cinematographer or has your focus been more on running sets?

A source told ESPN's Ric Bucher on Friday that Anthony would sign the extension with New Jersey if the Knicks can't make a deal.

all of you people saying he won't go to the nets sound like you're trying to convince yourselves of it. the reason he hasn't come out and said NO to NJ is because he wants to keep that option open so he can get his money. kind of like how the big 3 queers in miami would have went anywhere that had the room to sign them all. carmelo is an idiot for doing this, but if he HAS to go to NJ to get his money and still be pretty close to NYC, i think he does it.

Strangely enough, Melo said this just this morning, and I quote:

"F Me.

I'm gonna get drunk and find some bitches tonight"

Small world, huh?

Carmelo headed to table for media scrum. "Nothing, I don't know nothing about any meetings or anything."

IMHO, he's a selfish player on and off the court. If we sell the farm here, we will likely never recover.

I attribute it to him putting his future in the hands of CAA and letting LeBron's boys run the show for him. They have a definite agenda in where he lands and he for whatever reason refuses to man up and say he wants NY only publicly.

You guys cant believe melo will sign to the nets.. i refuse to believe.. look:

MELO said:
"I think, with anything in business, you want to sit and look in a person's eyes. Whether it's Prokhorov or it's [New York Knicks owner James] Dolan, whether it's [Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry] Buss, the third team that just came out last week. Whoever it is, you want to sit and have eye contact with them and get a feel for 'em."

But right before that MELO said:
"If I was to meet with that guy (Prokhorov) to be honest I really don't know what I would say."

So his mind doesnt even seem to be on the nets, because why would he say that he wouldnt even know what to say.. if he had the condition in his mind that hed sign with them if NY cant get it dont then wouldnt that mean that he'd want to meet with the nets, and wouldnt that mean hed have an idea of what he would talk to proky about??
"We’ll find a way to either make him a very useful player in our organization, or whatever"

If thats how the Knicks feel then they stick to their guns, he's not worth more... If you feel that you get Melo here first and worry about filling in the gaps later, then you trade whatever you have to to get him here.
