Mark, Dolan, and H20 are...

Also, last time Dolan actually went on an airplane to recruit a player, he apparently didn't make all too great of an impression. I think it's best we don't have an exhausted Walsh being seen either by the team we're trying to negotiate with, or Melo himself.

You mean Scott, not Mark. Unless you and I are thinking of different people. -Jitpal

I thought I read somewhere that Weitelstein would be joining them, along with Grundwald/H20/Dolan too (our contingency) in LA as well to meet with Melo? And that Donnie was the only one staying behind.

I dunno Sham. I think he's pissed with the way Denver has handled this whole thing. If he wins a chip in NYC his jersey will be retired anyway

how much would you hate someone on our team who did what you want melo to do ?

He also could have publicly stated in clear terms his desire to be here. He hasn't. He wants his money. That's fine. It's his right. If his choice is between money and NY, he chooses money. I get that and I'm ok with that. He isn't giving himself to NY then. If he wants to be in NY, he can be, he might not get all of his money though. It's his choice really. NY or money and until he makes that decision, you can't even say he was in it for NY. -Jitpal

If that's what he wants, he has the power to make it happen. No matter what, I think we can agree that he didn't have being a Net in mind when this all started.

Its all speculation now, but maybe Melo doesn't want to share on offense?

I just don't like wishy-washy people in general. It has nothing to do with my feelings on Melo as a player. I never had any real judgments on him as a person until now.

You must not like many people (like myself) because society has become more and more flaky (wishy-washy).

But tell me how you really fell about Melo as a player because I've read you write before you weren't a fan-boy.

James Dolan pulled a fast one on Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov by arranging a meeting with Carmelo Anthony late Thursday in Los Angeles, The Daily News has learned.

Although the Nets and Nuggets have agreed on players that would be included in a proposed blockbuster trade, the Knicks and Nuggets are scheduled to hold a high-level conference call Friday afternoon, according to a Knicks official.

The four main players on the conference call will be Dolan, the Chairman of Madison Square Garden, as well as Knicks president Donnie Walsh. Nuggets owner Stan Kroenke and Nuggets general manager, Masai Ujiri, will also be on the call.

The call indicates that the Knicks are definitely alive in their bid to acquire Anthony and that a deal can be made if both sides can agree on which players to include in the trade.

The holdup is the Knicks' reluctance to include Danilo Gallinari in the deal. The Nuggets want three starters, including Raymond Felton, a No. 1 pick and Eddy Curry's expiring contract.

The Knicks would get Anthony, Chauncey Billups plus other players to make the deal work under the salary cap guidelines, including Anthony Carter.

Anthony said today that he isn't aware of a meeting with Prokhorov. In all likelihood, Anthony is hoping that the Knicks and Nuggets can agree on a deal before he meets with Nets officials, including Prokhorov, the team owner, as well as minority owner Jay-Z.

Can we include Trollmod in the deal to get Melo? He could only post on the Denver board after the trade....or even worse... the NJ board.

I read here that Wark was staying here. The contingent of Knicks officially going as far as I know are Dolan, H20, Scott O'neil, Amare and Fields. Although, I don't know if either of the later would be involved in any sort of Melo meetings, very unlikely. -Jitpal

Since that's about the dozenth time I've seen it here lately, I'm taking complete credit for introducing that term to this board. Not just because I wrote it in a post that immediately prompted youtube from Bluest of Frank Caliendo's comedy routine. But also because I am in fact a licensed practitioner of rocket surgery. True story.
