I'm loving...LOVING...LOOOOVING the tension in the resolution to the Melo sweepstakes. Telling ya, if Melo goes to NJ that is the fourth NBA superstar to pass on the Knicks and use them as leverage to get what they want. THAT says a lot about how superstars look at the organization.

Melo basically has all the power of a FA. He could have delivered himself here with one sentence: "I will be a FA this offseason."

That has been what Sheridan (Who has direct pipe-line into Melo camp has been reporting all season). He also recently reported Melo is wavering now and thinking money above all else.

I don't know how any Knicks fan can still want a guy who is leveraging US to give up key players so he can get paid and on top of the fact that the very act of him getting paid is crippling to this teams ability to improve. Is that the type of personality you want leading your team?

I will personally have a lot of trouble cheering this guy if he becomes a Knick on these terms.

Weird thing is that they asked Melo about meeting with Dolan and he said that he would look forward to seeing if he really wants them there in NY.

So either he's bluffing or playing with a poker face or NYDN is wrong.

If Melo was bluffing, I'm impressed. You couldn't tell at all that he'd already met with Dolan.

Dolan already met with Carmelo on Thursday night, at least according to the NYDN.
