Jazz clearly are struggling and I truly believe it is time to rebuild. This what we need to do. No joking or anything on this.
First we trade D-Will, Memo to Golden State for Curry, Ekpe Udoh, Brandan Wright (Exp), Radmonovic (Exp), Gadzuric (Exp), and GS 2011 1st. Sounds like a lot but basically its Deron for Curry, Udoh, and a first. Pretty fair trade.
At the end of the season, we will only have 32.4 mil on the books (Big Al, Millsap, Raja, Hayward, Evans, Curry, Udoh). We have 42.8 mil coming off the books (AK, CJ, Price, Fesenko, Watson, Elson, B. Wright, Radmonovic, Gadzuric).
Basically we have a ton of cap space. We start by signing Prince or Battier. They are both unrestricted free agents and could start at sf for us for the next couple 3 years or so (possibly sign them to 3 years 15-18 mil?).
Also, if we don't make the playoffs this year (which if we make this trade will probably happen), we keep our draft pick we sent to Minnesota for Big Al. We could trade our pick and Golden States pick and try to get a better pick and get a guy like Terrence Jones (Kentucky, player comparison is Lamar Odom),Harrison Barnes (North Carolina, player comparison is Kobe Bryant, but on a lesser level), or my dream guy in Perry Jones (6'11 SF from Baylor, player comparisons are a mix between T-Mac and KG)
There are tons of restricted free agents we could go after with a lot of money: Aaron Affalo, Nick Young, Marc Gasol, Jeff Green, and Rodney Stuckey.
I say we sign either Aaron Affalo or Rodney Stuckey. Then we could sign a Jeff Green or a Marc Gasol. We could also sign a lesser back up such as a Pryzbilla or Dalembert. We would have a ton of flexibility to do whatever we wanted. If I had it my way, our lineup would look like this:
PG- Curry, Watson (resigned)
SG- Affalo, Bell, Hayward
SF- Battier or Prince, Perry Jones/Terrence Jones/ Harrison Barnes (draft), Jeff Green
PF- Millsap, Jeff Green
C- Jefferson, Udoh
We would sign Affalo for 5 years, 35-40 million. We would sign Jeff Green to 4 years, 40 million. We would sign Battier or Prince for about 3 years 15-18 million. We would resign Watson for 2 years, 5 million.
If we end up making the playoffs and only have Golden States pick, we either get Jordan Hamilton (Texas, player comparison is Rashard Lewis) or Kawhi Leonard (SDSU, player comparison is Shawn Marion). They back up at the 3 until they can become the starter.
Total salary for 2011-2012 Jazz: around 61.2 million
Championship??

If Double AA became a jazz man I may have to be a little more happy.

I would'nt really mind any of those packages that the Nets and Kicks are offering for Melo right now for Williams. Maybe we can set up a trade with who ever does not get Melo?! We might even get to add AK.

We have an option on him for next year.
