Melo and Dolan are the biggest culprits here.

As GONYK said, I'd do the deal if a gun was pointed at my head, but clearly we got bent over because we lost our leverage at the 11th hour.

GG to Melo's comments, Dolan getting involved, and Nets rearing their head again.

All I know is I better get a ring at the end of all of this. If Melo would have manned up and said I am not going to NJ we could have probably kept Gallo. Championship or bust for Melo's time in NY. Period.

You guys suck. You're getting a second All Star player and future HOF'er and your bitching about giving up mediocre players like Gallo and Chandler.

Get some perspective.

You're not serious, are you?

Giving up a 26 year old near all-star PG and a 22 year old F with star potential on a rookie deal for Melo and Billups? Please, it's a complete joke. It had to be done now, well if Melo wants his money now, I want my championship now. -Jitpal

He has a contract til 2013. No way they buy him out of that, right?

There was talk he'd get bought out if not moved after the trade deadline. He's extremely unhappy in Detroit and is willing to get bought out for less than his contract price. And I'm sure Detroit doesn't mind once realizing there is zero market for him at his price.

Thanks, haven't heard about that. My guess is they would at least wait until the new CBA is in place to see if they somehow get a way out. They'd be eating a lot of capspace if they try to buy him out now.

i love all those guys, But I'm not at all broken up about this. gallo was going to be a free agent sooner or later, and the fact of the matter is, the knicks weren't gonna wait into a player turns into something when we signed stat.

They want Felton cause he's a trade asset at his contract price. Billups is not much of an asset anymore. He's just a stopgap for 2012.

I desperately want to keep Gallo because he is my favorite player and I think he really will be great someday, but I guess this rumored offer is something you probably have to do.

his agents works for him. not the other way around. and he should have seen this coming. out of all the top guys in his draft class he took that extra long extension. its his fault.

This is OK but steep. We stop there.

Return of the incredible Balk?!

If you were smart, you would ask for Forbes as one of the filler pieces. He can play the 2 or 3, his defense is adequate and he can hit the 3 ball.
