F this. I'm going out and getting blacked out drunk. When I wake up in a ditch or some fat disgusting girls floor next to her bed I'm going to blame Melo

Get some perspective.
yeah i know its funny isn't it, and we would have lost chandler either way if we signed Melo this offseason. and Melo plays the same position as Gallo

buncha Gallo lovers around here
It's not love for Gallo but simpy that Melo and the Nets F'd up our leverage. It's close to equal value but if Melo really wanted to be here he could have dictated the terms to where "his future team" didn't have to give up so much.

Last comment before I head out--

If this deal goes down...the best part of the deal would be:

No more Gallo/Chandler debates. We pass that torch to Nuggets fans.

ANd his agent.... no blame? Stern's CBA scare tactics.... No blame? Nyets for being patsy's... No blame? Just Melo right?

Melo had the power to nullify every single one of those factors, but chose not to.

So no, just him.

They were right. The Nets re-entrance really saved Denver's ass.

Win/win for the Nets I guess, if they couldn't get Anthony they wanted to make the Knicks pay as high a price as possible.

If Melo said no to NJ, we would have been able to keep Gallo. Ah well.

I never understood fans who wanted Gallo off the table at all costs. You guys do realize that once we get Melo, there is ZERO chance of Gallo ever developing into the player we hope he could be? And his trade value would only go further down as next year is his last season on his rookie deal.

I'm glad someone agrees that assorted scrubs with Melo and Amare can lead this team to a championship because that's what we are going to get. The Celtics are good because of depth, that's why the Heat won't beat them. The Lakers have a ton of depth. Whatever, win 50 games, get bounced and be happy. Didn't realize that was the goal. -Jitpal

Mark Cuban made sure to find Josh Kroenke after labor meeting and quickly marched out of lobby with him. Think he's going down w\o a swing?

The trade proposal in my opinion is fair, yes did we think the knicks had all the leverage, but in the end we didn't. If Denver accepts which I hope they do, the knicks can keep Fields And Mozgov, plus Chandler was gone anyway, and I keep saying this, that Gallo and Melo play the same position, where was he going to play if Melo got here? Losing Felton and gaining Billups is a wash, Billups brings playoff experience and is mr. big shot, plus more importantly, his contract expires after next year, leaving the knicks with cap space for 2012. We all said the trade would happen if it was 2 of these 3, Gallo, Chandler and Fields, so hopefully nuggets will take these two..

Al_Bundy wrote:People here REALLY overrate Gallinari.

Look, I like him too, but at the end of the day he is inconsistent and has shown no signs of improving far more than this. Yes, 22 years old and all that mumbo jumbo but the guy is the exact same player from last year. Nothing has changed. Incredibly inconsistent. He'll have a game where he gets to the 20 times and then 2 the next game. A game where he has 25 points and the next game he has 5. He's not consistent enough and we're trying to win while Amare is in his prime. This was Gallo's time to take that 2nd option behind Amare and he didn't do it. Felton and Chandler are bigger options than Gallinari on this team.

Even if you don't want to have him on the Knicks, we still need talent to trade for Paul or Deron. You need to look a couple of steps ahead.
