It would mean keeping Gallo, the Next Larry Bird!

I think there will be some bought out players after the deadline which can be claimed to bolster our team. If Buike can give us some productive minutes we'll be still kinda deep.

Wojina is such a wojina. Our offer beats Beaubois anyway.

I'm not ecstatic but I am okay with this offer:

Felton - Billups -- we lose on this but strategically it is not one that hurts us much short term or long term.

Chandler -- we'd have to lose him anyway but sad to see him go.

Gallo -- the best prospect they're acquiring and given that they only have restricted rights on Chandler, it's not like you can count Chandler at the full value of his talent.

AR or pick -- sweetener, upside but not part of our rotation or plans.

It's a fair offer. Steep yes but fair and it shows Melo that we did do ALL that we could to get him. Now it's up to Melo to put pressure on Denver.

Furthermore, I'd make it clear to Denver that if they go with the Nets offer as the first one, then THIS OFFER IS OFF THE TABLE. They have till the end of the All-Star Game to accept or reject. If they go with the Nets and Melo rejects, our offer will SHRINK.

I think this is a really important strategic part of this offer.

Man, I don't want to give Felton away. You know Felton will be upset about leaving, he had his heart invested in here.

As for Felton, the kid is clearly getting the D'Antoni bump, his stats will drop back to earth when he's in a regular offense. The Knicks won't have any trouble finding a replacement PG for Felton, and Billups is no scrub in the meantime.

Stop complaining. LOL

For the people who want this deal...explain to me how we're gonna try to get Chris Paul or Deron by trading Utah or N.O any of our players not named Melo or Amar'e??? They're not gonna want our trash...

Because without a third star, we're not even gonna sniff the NBA Finals.

Why are people complaining about what we're offering? Gallo doesn't have much of a future if Melo is here and Chandler was going to be gone anyway. I'm just afraid what the middle ground is.

All I gotta say is Amare is going to look superhuman with a PG who can run pick and roll. Melo is Allan Houston with 10x the confidence. No more jack 30 3pointers this going to be good

That's the main problem for me too. Felton was our backup plan if the CBA makes it impossible to get Paul or WIlliams. Now what?

Brandon Knight or bust. (lol)

Or kendall marshall. I actually like the PG's coming out this year.

He only had a two-year contract, I'm sure he knew that it was possible.

Remember how Daryl Morrey waited to the very last second to fleece Walsh because he knew Walsh had no choice? Well that's what I'm hoping happens here to Denver. I hope we wait to the very last second and swoop in with an offer that allows us to keep Gallo, Fields, and Mozgov.

None of the players you guys are trading are even close to All Star level (sorry, just the truth) and you're getting a a HOF player in his PRIME. And 90% of the posters here can stop complaining.... If I were you guys, I'd be partying like crazy right now.

You are missing the point. We had the leverage to keep some of these assets for future moves if Melo had told Nuggets, trade me to NY or I am leaving in free agency. Was that a greedy feeling from us? Yes it was but it was realistic after Denver is seeing what happens to Toronto and Cleveland when they lost their stars in free agency.

Instead that idiot has been talking all week about his extension, therefore removing the Knicks' leverage and now we have to pay more and we have less assets for future trades or having better players to fill out the roster. He had an excellent chance to get his extension, get traded to the KNicks and have some good role players with him and the idiot blew it.

Get ready for 20mpg of Toney Douglas playing a PG thats a loss in it's self.

I feel for Felton, he stood up for his Teammates and Dolan kicks him out town the next day

Seriously. That last point is my whole issue.
The Knicks are back.
