He only had a two-year contract, I'm sure he knew that it was possible.

the part of it that bothers me the most is this. oh well.

I'm sad to see Gallo go...many will forget but in the depth of despair for the Knicks, when there was no light at the end of the tunnel, this kid was like a firefly...just a flicker of light. He offered hope and truth be told he's a decent young player.

I'll miss him the most as I've grown attached to the home grown guy...don't care that Felton is going nor do I really care for Chandler. He never was emotional vested in NY or at least didn't show it on the court.

DUDE.... GONYK.... he says that and in No way or shape or form does NY even bother trying hard to trade for him... they would've offered Denver a garbage package that would not have been worth them taking. Uriji knew what he got in toronto for Bosh after the fact or what the Cavs got after the fact for James. Denver absolutely would have just kept him and got the cap relief from letting him walk. He wanted his extension. Point blank.

I honestly don't see Denver taking this all the way to the summer. Even so, Melo could have always changed his stance if it came to that, but he never tested them, never forced their hand the way he's forcing ours. He's weakening our team, the team he wants to play for, because of a lack of testicular fortitude.

You may be right, but at the same time, Melo never did enough to find out.

Addressing the posters who wonder why we are upset. It's because Carmelo DESTROYED our leverage and cost us very solid players who were homegrown. Leaving us with a soon to be broken down Billups, no bench, and no salary cap space. This trade puts our ceilings at the ECF and it really didn't have to be that way if Melo manned up and said NY or bust. He would still be here at a much more palatable price.

We will be blowing up the squad for another round in the playoffs.

Kroenke is taking this personal, like he needs Melo to be looked upon as the bad guy in the eye of every Nug fan. He wants to make sure that that every last Nug fan knows what deal they could've had for Melo.

Melo also does not want to loose out on potential 50 million dollars. Thats why he is pushing for the trade, yes Melo is pretty much about the Money but he is also holding leverage with where he wants to go.

ECF ceiling would be nice. I think he just made us the new Hawks.

I think the best sign that this is a high but fair offer is that it is splitting people about 50-50.

That is where you find win-win deals honestly -- some people dislike, some like, nobody is too happy and nobody can be too unhappy.

I would not increase the offer at all on this. It should be a take it or leave it and it should go down if they go with the Nets deal as the first one in line.

I think Eric Gordon just said "its over now" when asked about the melodrama.

Denver would be dumb as rocks not to take this deal and run with it.

Walsh got handcuffed by dumbass Dolan, who felt threatened by Prokorov (and was probably pushed by Isiah to go visit Melo).

We are giving up more than we should.

Some of you guys are saying some really terrible things. In case some of you don't know, the last time the Knicks made the playoffs was 2003-2004 and we were embarrassed by the Nets. Haven't been to the finals since 99-2000, and have not won the finals since 72-73. While I hate to give up Felton as well as Gallinari in a deal much of you posters are gonna sit here and complain? After horrible sighings/trades over the years such as Crawford, Curry, James, and Jeffries, some of you have the nerve to post here and complain. And just for the record, if the deal included Mozgov or Fields as well I would tell Denver to go screw themselves, but this current offer some of you are going to sit here and cry. It really is such a shame because I have been coming to this website 15-20 times a day since 2005, and if I were to tell you guys back then that we would have a shot at pairing Amare and Melo together you probably would laugh at me saying I was living a dream. Now it is becoming a reality and some of you seem disgusted.
