That is where you find win-win deals honestly -- some people dislike, some like, nobody is too happy and nobody can be too unhappy.

I would not increase the offer at all on this. It should be a take it or leave it and it should go down if they go with the Nets deal as the first one in line.

agreed. people are mad because we didn't bend them over, not because it's a bad deal.

He had an excellent chance to get his extension, get traded to the KNicks and have some good role players with him and the idiot blew it.

Anthony's not the brightest bulb on the block. But he will have the most pressure - since he'll not be getting much help going forward. And they'll be no excuses. He could easily end up being hated like Marbury.

everyone saying our ceiling with Melo/Amare is ECF, whats our ceiling with Chandler/Gallo? do you really think we are a Marc Gasol away from beating Boston or Miami?

i must have missed something: is there some actual news about the content of the deal or is it just the previous semi-baseless speculations?

thanks

Why are people ignoring Landry Fields, the second best rookie in his class and a very smart young player who can do a lot of things very well, and Mozgov?

Confused.

These guys are both good players. Bill Walker has had a very high 3PT %, same as Shawne Williams. TD has shown that he is a capable guard ... well most nights.

We are not as deep as before but it's not like we are really thin either and our young guys still have talent.

I look at this trade as Gallo for Melo in many ways -- Felton for Billups is a loss but not a big one. Chandler had to go for Melo by signing.

I think some are being greedy.

Just my two cents.

I'm starting to feel that some news that is almost concrete will break tonight. But I'm usually wrong about that sort of thing.

absolutely, the guy getting lost in the shuffle is Azubuike. Hes a very capable scorer when healthy, and a decent defender.

Everyone acknowledges keeping gallo would be preferable and that chandler is a goner anyway, but people are still not seeing the big picture.

- age is irrelevant, melo is 26, he will outperform both gallo and chandler over the next 5 years
- our window as it stands is probably only 5 years, given amare's knees, we must get superstars, dont take amare for granted like we did with ewing
- chandler, gallo, and d lee were all solid players, but they couldnt even sniff playoffs, you sub that combo for amare/melo, which is exactly what we're doing, you're talking about 2nd round of the playoffs and beyond (even if you put them on the same roster as we had last year)
- we still retain a lot of flexibility after this season with this trade. with or without the trade, no one is fooling us into thinking we're going to win a title this year, and so next year is probably the most important, i for one dont think deron/cp3 would be necessary after amare/melo to be a contender, so long as we build effectively. All i know is, only amare wont cut it

now walsh has to get to work. try to get a steal in the draft again. attract ring chasing vets. look overseas like you did with moz. we can still get better.
