Addressing the posters who wonder why we are upset. It's because Carmelo DESTROYED our leverage and cost us very solid players who were homegrown. Leaving us with a soon to be broken down Billups, no bench, and no salary cap space. This trade puts our ceilings at the ECF and it really didn't have to be that way if Melo manned up and said NY or bust. He would still be here at a much more palatable price.

We will be blowing up the squad for another round in the playoffs.

We'll see. Technically Hawks don't have anybody as good as Amar'e or Melo.

Honestly, I'm most concerned with us giving up Felton and Randolph so casually. Mostly because what are we going to do when Billups retires or requests a buy out?

Keeping Gallo/Chandler would have been nice, but they're both SF's, and I guess, they wouldn't have much room to grow.

Chandler is gone so its pretty much,Curry dosent matter and 1st is from AR im guessing

I don't think it has to. If Carmelo knows we're making an offer that strong, there's no reason for him to sign an extension with the Nets. He can say "the Knicks are offering you a big package, the ball is in your court."

It doesn't, but it doesn't have to, Melo doesn't want to go there. If they could, Denver would have pulled the trigger on the Nets deal already. Melo is pressuring the Knicks to get a deal done and not try to sign him on the cheap in the summer.

its not a matter of beating nj's package, melo wont resign there, the nets were used to jack up the asking price and it worked. we increased our offer.

And unlike the Nyets, we have all our picks but 2012. AR is like a free pick.

We have our own pick this year if Houston misses the playoffs.

And then 2013 and beyond without any encumbrances.

Houston isn't making the playoffs, therefore no switch.
