If Dolan is behind all of this and Walsh is against it, this is probably the beginning of the end of Walsh running the Knicks. He won't be disrespected like that and stay here. He's too old and smart for that crap

Dammit Walsh...Go buy some 1st rounders since Denver overvalues crappy picks. Trade Douglas for a late 1st.

3 1st rounders, felton, chandler, Curry for melo and Billups would get it done.

douglas + buike + cash for 1st rounder.
Curry + AR = 1st rounder

felton, chandler, cash savings, 2 1sts?

James Dolan was the only Knicks official to meet with Carmelo Anthony on Thursday in LA. This is now his deal to make.

More vilification of Dolan. Dolan writes big checks, never gets cheap, and wants the team to win. Yes his judgment with Isiah was bad and seems to still be bad. But I find Dolan to be perfectly acceptable actually.

He loses money on the Knicks but just wants to win -- that's the foundation of a good owner.

And does he meddle into Donnie's decisions? Not really. Well maybe today lol. But not often.

I think he's fine. He was conned by Isiah and that was a mistake. But he was more a victim than anything.

Ironically, Dolan also has more motivation to care more about bringing in a superstar than winning an actual championship. He's not a basketball expert. He's a business man. At the end of the day, he cares more about the Knicks market power than he does championship titles. To me, this explains why Isiah Thomas is still relevant.

Dolan is awful..you kidding me?

Only he would allow rumors of the worst GM in franchise history returning while his current great and respect GM still has a job.

What we have to realize is he is technically still a Denver Nugget. He has been the face of their franchise for the past 8 years and he does care about them therefore he doesn't want them to get raped. He was also adamant about his situation not being compared to the Leballerina decision. He's been trying to please three sides which is really tough to do. (His $$, Denver, Knicks). This deal is absolutely ALL I would offer, probably a little more. but at the end of the day, you have to pull the trigger.

That would be all well and good if he wasn't using back channels to make it known he was going Knicks even if it meant FA and then chose to greedily back off the stance in the end. This all could have been done quietly but him and his team (like lBJ) had to milk this out all they could.

Agree...But they got what they wanted I guess. The publicity drama crap part of it. If we really knew for certain he was coming, we probably wouldn't be glued to our computers all weekend.

It's so sad to realize that Anthony is just another prima donna that hasn't put the team interest as the first priority, but anyway......wake me up when the deal is done (or the deadline passes)
Are you fans of the team or the player?

What's our record since he took over? The fish rots from the head down.

There was a time where Steinbrenner and Buss had bad records too. And Checketts was no great shakes either. His best move was hiring Riley which was a little lucky.

I'm not saying Dolan is Mr. Basketball but he's not half as bad as this boogie man image he know has. He got a little unlucky hiring Isiah and yeah, he should have known better.

But most important thing about an owner is deep pockets and not meddling. To me, he pretty much does these two things despite his flaws. I've never heard of him overruling his basketball people habitually, or at least not from what we've heard, and we know for sure that he's paid and paid and paid and never refused an expense.

Just saying that he's an easy target and gets too much grief considering everything. It's a little bit of piling on.

Honestly,
What has Dolan done wrong?

He feeds money to the franchise, he is a willing spender. What do you expect from an owner. Would you rather have an owner who is always looking to cut salary.

Hes not the greatest obvie, but hes def not the worst

You guys have to understand that Melo is trying to help the Nuggets out too because unlike another free agent this past summer Melo is actually saying "Thank You for the great years we spent with each other and I won't let you go empty handed". That's a class act.

I don't believe that for a second. I think he cares most about winning. Just because his teams have failed in that aim does not prove that he didn't care about it as his first priority.
