he can't play in italy. he's under contract.

That's not in Danilo's DNA

This is what he needs to take the next step. Dolan just slapped him in the face now he's going to play with real chip on his shoulder and become the player I think he's going to be or the player some y'all think he is

If the Knicks don't win a title I want the Nuggets to win one

boy, wouldn't that be something..

This trade could still be killed. Denver's pattern is to move the goal posts.

On one thing said above by another poster, Stoudemire is not an elite post player really. He's a face up player and slasher.

yea... my first game was the knicks vs the sixers.... haha... anyway. melo is not old, he is 26, but my point, is the knicks just don't believe in developing their own, espeically if they are not a star in year 1.. like ewing was... but hey, I hope denver backs out... really I do..

I love homegrown stars, like Jeter, Mo, etc. But which Knicks have we had in the last 15 years that we gave up on early that became stars like Carmelo? Look, I know it would suck to give up Gallo, I love the guy...but you can't not like this deal just based on the principle of not developing home grown talent. Most great teams have just one home grown star...the others have been traded for or signed. To get two top 12 players in their primes on our team and still have young talent and cap flexibility is astonishing considering where we were just 3 years ago.

and this is why they'll never win another chip again. its a never ending cycle, but I'm hoping the prodigal son breaks the cycle.

When in 5 years we look back at a Knicks team that never made it past the second round, while Denver got a jump start on a rebuild and Melo is on his last legs while Gallo, Chandler, and AR are in their prime. Don't forget we are giving up Randolph as well. You put these players in the right environment and they all have all star potential.

Melo is so happy. Damn he is definitely a Knick.

Who thinks about 5 years from now? Nerds, that's who. Real fans only concentrate on today.

I love Gallo too, if this goes down I will miss him a ton and feel bad for Felton as well. However, this offer is the middle ground. This is one of those trades where I say I rather take it than leave it on the table. Also people calling Melo names and blaming him for this must consider themselves in his shoes. He doesn't want to disrespect his franchise and feels he should leave on good merit. We honestly didn't see that coming but it happened. I can live with this.

GONYK - you are right that Melo has sort of backed away from his supposed 'Knicks or bust' mentality - and had cost us a bit by considering NJ..... But lets not take for granted that he wants to come here, don't be greedy.... the only reason Denver is even talking to us is because Melo dragged his feet so much that they were forced to.... so the guy wants his money, it's really not that big of a deal.... We are in no position to be blaming him for wanting to come here, he's done more than he has to.

Knicker23 wrote:Only in NY would you have people threatening to walk away from the team for landing a max guy for a few pieces we thought we may perhaps be able to hang on to... Some people don't know what other teams would give to have these two on the team, and we have people talking about how this deal would be 'hard to swallow' - comon guys.

A lot of flip flopping going on. Can't say i'm innocent either. Weeks ago the majority of the board would give up fields, gallo, chandler, and felton in a heartbeat. Props to those who stuck to their guns.

In the end I think we all knew if a TRADE was going to get done it was gonna take "2 of 3". And there's no doubt everyone tends to overvalue their players (knicks especially because of the huge fanbase)

Nah Karl will get Gallo out of the damn corner and actually give him a role that suits him. He is going to flourish and become the player we all wanted him to become in NY. If Melo was here he would be a great 6th man but I don't think he ever would have become a Manu because of the players that surround him aren't exactly Tim Duncan's.

This trade will definitely takes some of my passion for the Knicks to Denver. I will be watching very closely. Hopefully our guys can take them out of the 8th seed the superstar Melo has them in right now.

As I said, I think denver will be more fun to watch than the knicks... and probably better than the knicks down the road..

Wow this deal sucks for us; Walsh would never make a deal like this, this has Dolan written all over it.
