Then why doesn't he just say no to the Nets. Eliminate any leverage Denver had.

that is totally false, if someone is saying they are easy replaceable then they don't know basketball but if the reported deal is what goes through u have to pull the trigger. Chandler is not a 2 in that he can't guard 2's. Gallo value would drop on a melo team since he would have less shots and would be regulated to a corner 3 point shooter. I love gallo but at this point gallo has a carmelo game once or twice every 5th game. Melo has that point output every game

Oh you didn't hear? According to most people around here, Gallo, Fields, Chandler and Mozgov are dime a dozen role players. We can just grab a couple more off the discard pile and fill in. It's what SAS told me and I'm sticking by it. -Jitpal

Yup.

Also shows us who enabled the worst excesses of the Zeke era.

I'm glad it's almost over with, but this sounds more and more like one of those situations where nobody wins.

unless that superstar is willing to take mid-level, we are bound to get chris duhon caliber guys for the foreseeable future. dolan killed the franchise again.

How do you figure that? Who other than A'mare and Melo would have long term, expensive deals? Nobody, not one player on our team would be cap killing other than those guys...if you do the math and assume the cap figure isn't drastically changed during the next CBA, we will absolutely have money to spend.

I'd counter you can have Fields + Douglas but no Chandler & Felton/Billups swap.

why would that be better. we end up with less quality players.

Talk about people being exposed. I knew you liked Gallo TKF, Duetta as well... I even remember you saying your love cause you to go buy a Denver jersey and become a fan of them.... but to say you would lose interest in the knicks, because of gallo... that goes to a new level of low, imho

Well, with all due respect, I think what those people are saying is "Fields >>>> Gallo."

Which is laughable.

They can have Felton and Chandler and AR then they have to choose b/w Fields or Gallo or Moz...that would be my bottom line for Melo and Billups.

I don't see your point here. Being willing to give up a lot doesn't mean there aren't limits. The Felton/Chandler/Gallo/1st for Melo/Billups package allows us to put a good lineup from top to bottom on the court, and lets us keep our very inexpensive rookie of the year candidate. It's arguably an acceptable sacrifice to get Melo. If you replace Chandler with Fields it's no longer acceptable because Chandler can't handle the SG position the way Fields can, is older, and is going to make significantly more money next year. Even if it ended up being a wash on the court, Fields has much more value than Chandler does right now.

they both will make 20 million each. whatever you assume, you can't fit in another max there.

How has no one noticed that TKF is satirizing all of you yet?

Are you committed to us Melo? Because it seems you only care about Melo right now.

I'm sorry but your not making much sense here. Why can't he have his money and play for the Knicks? He shouldn't have to sacrifice a cent if the Knicks really want him what's the issue?

He could have his money anyway if he put the screws to Denver. Instead he chose to put the screws to us. F*ck him.

He choose security and a sure thing can't blame him for that. Why should he take a chance on the Nuggets calling his bluff and keeping him the whole season? He's a multi time allstar and he deserves to be compensated as such. Potentially allowing himself to lose money seems like too much so I find nothing wrong with him establishing and forcing the issue getting what he wants. Does it suck that we lose some players yeah sure but we'd lose some regardless so no real sweat off my back.

Also the notion that we need the assets to get Paul or whatever is weird. I find it hard to believe we'd be able to trade for CP3,Deron, or Dwight with just Fields,Gallo, and Billups.
