I never said anything about a max player...but there is only one team that has 3 max players and that was unprecedented. I think we are getting greedy...ok so we'll have Melo, A'mare, young talent and money to throw at a very good player. What's with this 3 max or bust bs? It's mind boggling that people are still complaining about possibly getting A'mare and Melo, yet ruining our chances at a 3rd max player...astonishing. Over Gallo and Chandler? Really???

He choose security and a sure thing can't blame him for that. Why should he take a chance on the Nuggets calling his bluff and keeping him the whole season? He's a multi time allstar and he deserves to be compensated as such. Potentially allowing himself to lose money seems like too much so I find nothing wrong with him establishing and forcing the issue getting what he wants. Does it suck that we lose some players yeah sure but we'd lose some regardless so no real sweat off my back.

It's no sweat off your back because you aren't thinking longterm. Melo screwed his future team's competetive chances just to get his. He made himself bigger than NYK. For that, f*ck him. If he put himself out there this much, he should have done it all the way and made sure he had the strongest team possible to come to.

Also the notion that we need the assets to get Paul or whatever is weird. I find it hard to believe we'd be able to trade for CP3,Deron, or Dwight with just Fields,Gallo, and Billups.

not only we are not getting a third max, our team is reduced to amare+melo plus scrubs.

i hold out hope that billups will demand a buyout if trade goes through.

absolutely not. boston is the way to go. boston lineup has three players that they drafted/got as rookies. we will have nobody.

Thank you. I've said it all along, Melo's actions look like someone who wants to exert his power because he missed out on the summer circus, not someone looking for a ring.

The way this is heading Melo and Amare are always going to be the also-rans to the three queens in Miami. As much as I hate Lebron, Bosh and Wade, they gamed the system perfectly to ensure flexibility around them. The 3 in Boston did an even better job at that. That's not the case here.

well we can foget about adding Chris Paul or Deron Williams or Dwight Howard, because unless their is a hard cap of $65M or$70M we have no shot because Utah, Orlando or New Orleans are not going to let those players just walk away for nothing and unfortunately we don't have any assets to trade for them. I hear these idiots on the radio calling up saying trade everyone on the roster except for Stoudemire and what they fail to realize is that those players are not just for playing on the team but for potential trade chips. This trade will set us back two years minimum. Carmelo Anthony refuses to use his contract extension as leverage he pretty much said he doesn't want to go about it like that. Let's just say that the Knicks make the deal for melo in order to sign another superstar we can just sign cheap role players and go over the cap so then a possible sign and trade for Paul or Howard could happen.
