Barkleys an idiot, he was praising the Arenas/Hedo deal the magic made.

I have never ever heard Barkley say anything positive about the Knicks.

However this plays out.... he will say the Knicks blew it.

More like, if Barkley is caling it a bad deal, it's surely a good deal...

CB and Kenny are 100% correct on this one. Melo doesn't change the landscape of the East. He's not a player worth trading most of your talent for.

I'm curious to know what people's realistic expectations are for this year and next year based on the rumored deal? -Jitpal

Because Melo seems to only want NY, which severly limits what the Nuggets can get in return. What other top 10 player do you think can be acquired with the rumored package? Gallo is good but he is not a stud player. All of the guys going out are average to good players...not one is great. From a pure talent standpoint the trade is a steal for NY.

Is Gallo going to be very hard to replace? Is a team screwed if they lose a player of Gallos caliber? If not then you shouldn't let a dude like him stop you from getting a stud.

I guarantee half of the people wouldn't be nearly as panicked if it were Fields in the deal instead of Gallo....It ain't about giving up too much, because any bball person would know the skill we'd be getting is worth it... it's about people not wanting to see their home grown boy Gallo leave, especially if it could have been done with out him... it's exactly as we say it is.

Real easy to deflect blame on "Gallo lovers", when its just rational Knicks lover who are furious after witnessing Carmelo Anthony compromise our ability to build a contender so he could get paid. We had a chance to be a real contender. Now we're just a cap-locked team led by one dimensional, me-first players at terrible value when taking into account the black cloud looming on the horizon (the cba).

Compromise? Our plan from the beginning has been 'get stars here'.... it hasn't been 'get stars, but only if we get them for free.... and can keep gallo'.

It's Felton and Gallo that kills. If he had the backbone to be a man of his word and keep up the sign me or lose me for nothing Denver would have been forced to take the 20 million in savings with Wilson/picks and we would have had a legit team. Instead he forced the deal through by maximizing Denvers leverage as a means of expediting the process of getting paid. He showed his true colors.

Melo on TNT sounds like it's all Knicks. He says no meetings this weekend but he hopes something is done this weekend.

I just wanted to just vent. I want Melo and it looked like we would be getting Melo on our terms until Dolen got involved. By trading Gallo/Fields/Randolph/Curry/Felton for Melo/Carter/Billups is a horrible deal from the position the Knicks were in. This is totally an Isiah move that a spoiled rich kid would make. I saw in an earlier post someone tried to compare Dolen and Cuban, with that the major difference is that Cuban is a very smart business man and Dolen isn't. The Knicks front office is a complete joke. There is no foresight in this decision, I hope everyone celebrating is happy being a 2nd round playoff team now, the Knicks will not get any further. Let me explain to you why, the Miami Heat. We are now competing with the Heat for the same role players chasing a ring. If you are chasing a ring who do you play with? Lebron, Wade, and Bosh or Carmelo and Stoudemire. We no longer have any cap space, but I see posters say, the cap will be raised. With that I also say The Heat get the same cap. Think of it this way, the Knicks now have about 43 million for Melo and Stoudemire. The Heat have about 45 million for Lebron, Wade and Bosh. The Knicks will never have the 3rd star needed or get the role players needed.

some funs understand that you dont trade all of your players for a player that is coming anyway. You dont trade all of your players for someone not named LBJ, Deron, Cp3, Dwight, Wade

I would expect around 48 wins this season...2nd round exit...Next year I would expect 50-55 wins with an ECF apperance.
