Bargnarni
This could actually happen by giving cleveland a 1st and Toronto a 2nd
look something like this:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=4ntdyhy
Toronto fans say Bargnani needs a low post partner too make up for his defensive liabilities and that he is a 3rd option player. With that said, we have 2 guys who can make up for Bargs and he doesn't have to be the go to guy, just provide 17-20 points for us and be a big body. We pick up Sessions as well which is an upgrade IMO, and all of this cost us an average starting SF and some lower bench guys and picks.Overall, Toronto and the Hawks swap 2 guys who never did live up to the hype.

Re: Bargnarni
MY mistake I meant a first to Toronto and 2nd to the Cavs, and then Toronto can use that first to get one of the restricted FA bigs coming up this summer and still be able to have one or 2 other first round picks to draft Irving..I'm just being optimistic and think Toronto would kind of pull the trigger seeing what kind of summer they can have after the CBA agreement, and have Marvin fill their desperately need @ SF position.I mean Sonny Weems starting SF?!?!?Would be a great upgrade because Marvin isn't a bad player, just not a #2 pick.Calderon can help bring in some other pieces, but Bargs really isn't a corner stone player and at best a #3 option, where he fits perfectly in ATL.Don't see why the Hawks won't take a look at him.
Raptors 11-12 Roster
1-Irving,Bayless
2-Derozan,Barbosa
3-Marvin,Weems,Kleiza
4-Amir,Davis
5-RFA,Ajinca
Hawks 11-12 Roster
1-Sessions,Bibby
2-Joe,Possibly Jamal,Jordan
3-Josh,Wright
4-Horford,FA
5-Bargnani,FA
Dreaming too big I guess..

Great trade for us, but I can't see Toronto liking it.

Re: Bargnarni
Good trade, but I bet it would never happen even if the two other teams agree on.
With 15.6M out and 18.2M in, we get 2.6M in salary than what you have now, and... we would have to pay Luxury Tax.
We don't even now if owners would pay it for adding an All-Star, so paying Tax for these players, it won't happen.
Make a trade of owners first, then you have a chance on this trade

With Bargnarni, we'd have THREE PFs and no true Center or SF.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Bargnarni is not a true Center, but he could play it with along side Horford. a front court of Horford and Barg would cause most teams front court problems. both can put he ball on the floor and both can stroke it from outside especially Bargs. plus we would still have Collins and ZaZa to throw out there if need be.

and still be able to put Josh out there and play defense while keeping his shot attempts down. Also spreads the floor more and could allow sessions and Crawford drive it in easier.

Re: Bargnarni
I can't believe you guys. Bargnarni is a PF version of Jamal Crawford: all offense and no defense. A frontcourt of Bargnarni/Horford/Smoove would have ONE player in his right spot. We'd be a defensive mess.
Add to that, Bargnarni is a high-volume shooter.... and from mainly the outside. He's a SF in a Center's body. He has no low post game on offense and is worse defending the low post.
However, he'd be great off the bench, like Jamal, for instant offense.
If we have to trade our only true SF, we either need another true SF or a center or PG, not this 7 ft. SF.

Hawks should start making moves to clear up cap so that the Hawks can make an offer to Dwight, Paul, or Deron in 2012/13
Marvin and Zaza for a 2nd round pick, or 1 year expiring contacts would be great for us

Re: Bargnarni
Guys, think of Pau Gasol before he went to the Lakers. His game was very similar to that of Bargnani's. But with better players around him, other bigs to split the dirty work with and an infusion of toughness he has been a huge part in the Lakers making it to 3 straight NBA Finals. Having a frontcourt with Smoove, Horford and Bargnani gives us so much versatilty offensively.
Defensively, we'd be forced to play zone most of the time, but with Bibby at PG, that's probably the best course for us anyway.

Ignoring the fact that he's much better...Gasol doesn't play anything like Bargnani. One is a low post player and the other is a spot up shooter. It would be like comparing Rashard Lewis to Lamar Odom just because they are the same height.

Re: Bargnarni
Of course i'm just being the "Blogger GM" most of us try to be,but Bargnani spreads the floor and helps our current PG's out, by spreading the zones for dribble penetration and allowing one on ones down low for Al and himself. To add,Atlanta is a pretty above-average defending team only allowing about 95 PPG, but offensively lack, by putting up 96 PPG. Bargnani could give you 17-20+, and wouldn't have to worry about defense bcuz of Josh and Al.Toronto fans know that Bargnani is just a one trick pony and doesn't change games like Dirk, but with our current front court, Bargnani would shift this team into a definite ECF contender.Even NBA Finals contender with some chemistry and effort. But Bargs stays in Toronto to only be wasted becuz Colangelo will keep him as long as he is producing points. Cost Hawks to much as well and never will get done seeing as we supposedly MUST operate under the LT to be successful.Weakest BS i ever heard..I Love My Hawks!!!
