How is BC in this game? Man, they've been awful.

Brandon Knight having an impressive afternoon. Not a great fit with the Raps because he'll probably never evolve into a true floor general. But a team with a ball dominant SG could really make use of his quick release.

Barnes was terrible. I can't see how anyone can get hyped up about him. If anything we'll all be pleasantly surprised if he becomes anything in the NBA, but this is how he's played most of the year.

i wonder how many players will enter the draft without an agent so they can play NCAA through the lockout.

If we didn't have so many PFs, Derrick Williams would be my pick not named Kyrie Irving. Hands down.
He is good.

But are you certain that he can play his kind of offense against much bigger and mobile defensive players?
Because I'm really not.

Re: Official Raptors 2011 NBA Draft Thread, Part 2
^Yeah, he's had some of his shots blocked today, but I'm curious if his hand injury is affecting his ability to grip the ball, because he's lost the ball a couple of times going up.
He has a quick second jump, so even if he misses, he'll get the ball, and put it back in.
I think he's unique, because you can run a pick-n-roll or have him pop back out, as he can shoot it pretty well too, not to mention drive right into the chests of guys bigger than him.
He can be a weapon in an offence. Actually, I think he'd look great in Pheonix or in Washington with John Wall.

HB is not ready. He's going to be a good NBA player but not next year. There are better options in the top 5 than him who can help the Raptors.

To me its Kyrie Irving... Derrick Williams if you can play him at the 3 (which I definitely think he can). Or trade the pick so either a pick next year, or a great PG/Center. Good news is I think we'll have a top 3 pick to be able to achieve one of these two.

Re: Official Raptors 2011 NBA Draft Thread, Part 2
HB posted a few great games that really flashed his potential, but he's been coming back to earth the last few weeks. Unless he has a great ACC and NCAA tournaments there's no way he'll declare.
This leaves T Jones as the clear #2 guy for me after Irving.
The Euro's and P Jones scare the heck out of me.
There's really no other wings or PG's that look like lotto picks to me.

The Euros uniformly scare you? Must be a bad crop this year.
T Jones seems selfish offensively. He'd rather take an awkward contested shot than drop it off to a wide open teammate. He actually makes Brandon Knight look generous. Also, his D is hard to gauge. He's got the Josh Smith thing of ignoring all his responsibilities to set guys up for blocks. Really seems like a 4 trapped in a 3's body. But, he does seem to have a competitive fire that I haven't seem from too many prospects in this draft. I get the sense that with some experience he could be half decent. I generally come away from watching Kentucky games more impressed with Knight, though. He's going to be good on a good team.

Ernes Kanter hasn't played in 2 years. At this age that's a huge loss in development time. He's going to be rusty at best.
Motiejunas is another skinny 7 footer perimeter based Euro who can't rebound or block shots. Where have I heard that before.
Valanciunas can't get minutes in Europe but as an 18 year old maybe that's expected. But big time prospects & NBA players were getting minutes at that age.
So yes they scare me, especially because BC can fall in love with them and pass up a better player.

You know BC has picked guys other than Bargs, right?
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Valanciunas plays 14 minutes a game and from what I've heard, he deserves to play more if it weren't for the coach. I think he sounds like a fantastic prospect tbh. 14 minutes a game vs professionals is just as good as 25 minutes against some random college players IMO

Looks alot like the DX board.
I don't have P Jones very high because I think he's going to be a bust. He doesn't have a position.
I like Williams alot especially if he can be a SF.
Sullinger is legit, but I don't want another PF
I don't really like the Euros this year. Too many question marks.
