S-Jax leading league in %TO for guards

Post#1 » by LamarMatic7 » Sun Feb 20, 2011 7:59 pm

The theory in this one is that once a player gets the ball, he can only do one of these four things (aside from dribbling): pass, shoot, draw a foul, or commit a turnover.

So those are the stats for most players in the league.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/blog/?p=8847

Of course it isn't a suprise that Stephen Jackson is leading the guards in turnovers. 6,9% of the time he gets the ball he turns it over. Actually two Bobcats - Boris Diaw and Gerald Wallace - are pretty high on this list also with 6,5 and 6,3 %.

It isn't suprising to see that Boris Diaw is leading the league in the least times shooting the ball between power forwards by taking the shot only 27,5 % of the time (Kirilenko and James are ahead of him if we take all forwards).

I can't get the listing to work very well. I also wish it included assist rates as well.

Oh and I forgot to mention that Diaw is 5th in the league as the least fouled player. Only behind Kidd, Calderon, Rondo and Bibby.

Some of his turnovers are simple jack. A good bit of them are just trying to make the home run pass or not making sure the receiver of the pass is prepared. Which I guess could be called simple jack too lol

The problem with Jax is that he'll make good passes but when he does all his teammates are standing around and waiting for him to shoot instead. That and the fact his good pass is usually a laser beam to Kwame or somebody else with bad hands.

:o  :-? DO NOT Trade JAX MOVE HIM To 3
Make these moves before deadline:
Trade checker 5856546 Matt Carroll for Ronnie Brewer(Bulls) Bulls need outside shooterm of bench.

Start Hendo backup with (NJN) Graham, Save money/ get younger/more athletic

Then trade checker 5856548 Wallace to NJN for Murphy, Graham and 2011 1st

Move Jax to 3 and backup with Brewer.... JAX has less turnovers at the 3

Trade Checker 5856556 Then trade Diaw and Najera to LAC for Kamen
Dmac is a great rebounder and Dbrown blocks shots. use then together at the 4 until TT is healthy

Lineup
DJ/ Livingston/Collins
Hendo/S Graham
Jax/Brewer/Dbrown
T murphy/Dmac/  TT back in March
Kaman/Kbrown/Nazr/diop out for year

Pickup another 1st round pick 2011 and shed Wallace/Diaws contracts

Yeah, they won't give us Brewer for Carroll. Not in 12 billion years.
