Offseason?

Post#1 » by Dakid21KG » Tue Jun 10, 2008 3:23 am

With the draft approaching...we have some decisions to make. We have an extremely young team with loads of potential. With bergy and koby back we really just gained two 30 goal scorers back.

I think we need to make a strong push for hossa, he would be unbelievable with Savy or Patrice. They are just such great passers, hossa would benefit off it so much. Plus savard had a connection with him in ATL. Its a strech, but i think it would help us so much. We need to push harder than the habs, you know they want him really bad.

I think we need to deal schefer, even though he did play well in the playoffs. He did not live up to his expectations, so if we can land a decent prospect for him i'd be fine with it.

In a nut shell, we need to keep the core but had a few explosive players.

1 Question I have though.

What do you guys think about throwing Kessel on Bergy's line this year, I think Kessel needs that center to feed him passes. and we all no patrice can do that.

Love the offseason, almost as much as the season

I really hope Kobasew can have a year like this past one.

I agree about Schaefer. He did perform when the season was on the line, but the whole year he was non-existent. But he has got to go. I think maybe this is the year we will see the guys like Murray and Axe go. I don't know about axe, but if Murray is back with us next year, I will be very surprised.

Yeah, Hossa is the number one option. He might stay in Pitt. Which would suck, but the one thing we can't have is Hossa to the Habs. That would be worst case scenario. I think it is down to either boston or Pitt. Let's hope he goes for the money.

Speaking of Habs, I say, lets steal some away. Ryder who I have hated for so long, would look nice in a B's jersey. What do you think?

All rumor outlets are and have been saying that the bruins will make a push for Redden. Another ottawa senator which Chia has had connections with. Chara has been great. Schaefer not so much. I don't really know how I feel about this one. I mean, chara was great last year, if Julien can get redden to play up to his potential, then yeah I would love to see him in black in gold.

Dream offseason for me would be: Sign Hossa. Sign JM Liles.

Would love to see Schaefer and Murray gone, whether we get anything in return or not. I expect a big jump from Phil the Thrill, and I do think he will be on the wing centered by Bergie eventually.

I think Kobasew will be a solid 30 goal scorer who can add some grit. He's not injury prone but I do worry about his health because he is small for his style.

I am hoping to see Blake Wheeler or Carl Soderberg make the big club and provide a boost like Lucic, Krejci, Nokelainen or Sobotka, and I expect a big year for Krejci.

Carl Soderberg, if fully healthy and not suffering ill effects of the eye injury, could leap frog Rask, Lashoff etc and be our top prospect. Before the injury he was dominant in the SEL putting up better numbers than any Swedish star at the same age, including guys like Forsberg or Zetterberg.

For the most part...draft trade rumor wise. The bruins have been pretty quiet. I mean, you have heard names like Marleau and Hossas rights, and even Evgeni Malkin. But doesn't seem they are going after those guys hard. Looks like the B's will stand pat in the draft. I am going to make a prediction and predict the selection of John Carlson. Another american D-man.

So Marion Hossa rejected the offer from the pens, to see what the market looks like.

Here is my theory, Hossa to the hub could very well happen.

According to reports, Two teams are hot after him, the bruins, and the vancouver canucks. The Bruins are in a position to offer more then the penguins, and canucks will probably offer more then the bruins. But you have to wonder, if Hossa wants more money (which is why he denied the contract offer), and a good chance to win (which he has said), then Boston is that place. He is close with some of our stars, savard and chara. There are 3 things that could stop him though. One is PC shortchanging him, could happen, but unlikely, hossa and chia know each other. Chia knows how great a player hossa is. The second is the canucks overpaying for him. The third is hossa just being greedy and taking a canucks offer for a little more then the b's.

That is all just my oppinion though. I really hope they do get him. I loved everything about the celtics championship run expect those signs that said "Big Three: Patriots Red Sox Celtics."

The Bruins need to become relevant. And fast. sign hossa and your a playoff team year in and year out.

did you hear the buzz that theyre already talking to him. i could see them paying more but not a lot more. the pens barely offered 7 mil/year and hes probably looking for 8. i could feel good about paying anything from 7 to 7.5

Yeah, I heard that. Hopefully they don't get caught tampering or anything like that.

And yeah I am with you on the price range.

' Sean Avery’s internship with Vogue is over and the soon-to-be- free agent says he learned plenty and is looking forward to possibly doing it again next summer. What didn’t Avery like about the internship was its low-level work. “The production aspects sucked, setting up the shoots,” says Avery. On the other hand, he enjoyed schmoozing with fashion’s top minds. “I’m bringing the European flavor back to America,” adds Avery, “and I’m rocking a straight Speedo all summer.” ' -Stan Fischler

I say no to avery.

Agreed. Avery does not fit this team.

Stuart re-signing was nice.

Wideman just filed for arb. Which means we don't have to buyout murray or manny by the 30th. Pretty cool, gives us room to work with. I think this is a sign of not just hossa, but maybe a defencemen like liles.

Rumors have has going hard after campbell. I would rather have Marion though. We need scoring.
