2. Orlando Magic
Needs: Backup big man.

Deal to be made: Orlando sends PG Chris Duhon, C Daniel Orton, F Earl Clark and F Malik Allen to Portland for C Joel Przybilla.

Outlook: It’s become clear that the Magic can’t get by without adding a reserve center along the lines of Marcin Gortat, who was traded to Phoenix in the Hedo Turkoglu-Jason Richardson deal. They need protection for Dwight Howard.

Przybilla figures to be a sought-after asset, because he defends and rebounds, and the Blazers will be willing to part with him now that Marcus Camby is close to a return. The Magic should make a strong push for him.

Duhon would give the Blazers an upgrade at reserve point guard and help buffer the team against Andre Miller’s free agency. Allen is a throwaway, but Orton and Clark are young and could be packaged in other deals. Clark, who also was part of the Turkoglu trade, couldn't be included in this
deal until Feb. 18.

Pryz is ****. He cant play worth a dam, and especially cant stay healthy. I might trade Duhon/Q/Malik for him since he is an expiring, but nothing more than that

Pryzbilla would be a solid back up for us since he can rebound, block shots, and frustrate some players. Trading away all those players, especially Clark, is too much though.

The Knicks are "not going any further" with offers for Carmelo Anthony, a source tells Newsday.
The final offer is reportedly: Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Eddy Curry and a draft pick for Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Renaldo Balkman and Shelden Williams. The Nuggets would be getting three legitimate NBA starters -- more than they ever could have hoped for considering Anthony's stance. The ball is now in the Nuggets' court, and we'd expect a resolution shortly. If the deal goes through, the Knicks projected starting five would be Billups, Landry Fields, Anthony, Amare Stoudemire and Timofey Mozgov. The Nuggets would likely make more trades, making their lineup impossible to predict right now.

Knicks or bust pretty much

I look at those guys NY is sending and can't help but think we can offer similar or better. Nelson (originally drafted by the Nuggets), J. Rich, and Bass or Anderson.

This is getting out of hands. Denver is threatening NY that they will trade Melo to NJ if they don't include Mozgov :-? What is this, elementary school?

i cant believe how much NJ is spending to try and get Melo. 5 1st round picks + Harris (Favors counts as that 5th pick) If they were to keep and use those picks, they could get a much better team. I know Prokorov wants someone to get people to come, but if you build a winner, people will come.

you seriously cant see that either NJ or NY offers are better than what Orlando can offer?

The Nets offer blows anything we could throw out there away.

The Knicks though?
Felton, Gallo, and Chandler is not THAT much better than Nelson, JRich, and Bass or Ryno

Charlotte's active in talks to move Gerald Wallace and/or Stephen Jackson, league execs say. Houston, Portland, others w/ eye on Wallace.

interesting, either one would be good for this team on defense, but I would rather have Wallace over Jackson.

Its THAT much better, IMO. Gallo and Wilson are youngers players than Bass and Jrich, and Raymond is having a great year, much better than Jameer's (and he is younger).

If you are trying to rebuild, age is an important factor, thats why their offer is better than what we could offer.

Don't go overboard with this Felton bullcrap. This guy has been a mediocre PG his entire career and is experiencing an up in production because of the system. Chandler and Gallo are better pieces than we could offer for sure but I'd take Jameer over Felton all day long.

Ray Felton is a garbage PG, imho. He's just built for that Knicks offense.

this is crazy

If the New York Knicks send Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler and Timofey Mozgov to Denver for] Anthony, the Nets are in discussions to then acquire either Gallinari, Felton or Chandler plus Mozgov for two first-round draft picks.

chandler is a free agent this summer.i definitely would love to get him in a magic uni

Yeah, Chandler isn't a bad spot up shooter. He'll take to the role just fine.

he's also a decent shot blocker and perimeter defender make for a good starting sf. hedo's ass can come off the bench. too inconsisten to be starting anyway. we'd still need a versatile 2 guard though.

hmmmmm
