Gallo to the Clips?
Regardless of being a Lakers fan, I've been a big supporter of the Clips since the LO-Brand-Miles days. I also have been a big fan of Baron since his Charlotte Hornets days - and was exited for the Clips when you guys landed him. You guys look great out there running Blake around, my money's still on him to win the ROY.
This whole Melo thing got great pieces of talent lying around locked in with teams that won't have much of a bright future anytime soon.
One piece is Danilo Gallinari.
You guys should get him - the dude has so much talent.
Imagine running the floor with B. Diddy, Gordon, Gallo, Blake and DeAndre.
You guys would be the most entertaining team to watch in the NBA.
Who are you guys willing to give up for Gallo?

I would be a big fan of the move because Danilo is a solid 3-point shooter with him on the floor he creates a lot of space for E.J. and Blake to get easy baskets. At the same time, I wouldn't be upset with Aminu starting either.

Re: Gallo to the Clips
mkwest and myself have been taling about that in the "Around the NBA" thread, which is stickied.
We both agreed on Gallo helping us and being willing to give up our first round pick, if it's about top 2 or 3 protected, in case we were to luck out at the draft lottery.
Anyways, I'd really like Gallo on the Clippers, as he'd fit in nicely at the 3 spot with his shooting and underrated passing skills.
So do it Neill.

Re: Gallo to the Clips
Looks like Gallo isn't the only former Knick we're looking at.
I wouldn't mind giving up a first rounder for Gallo, but I'm not sure what to offer for Chandler, who'll be a RFA this summer and might need another surgery(ankle, I think) this summer as well.
In my world, ALL related to Clippers:-) Dani's name out earlier (props, Howard) but hearing interest in Chandler. http://tinyurl.com/4vcp9o

Re: Gallo to the Clips
Gallo for Minny's 1st in 12' I am sure that Denver would love to stock pile picks, just in case their is a lockout.
If you check the Knicks BOARDS, Gallo was the one guy they didn't want to give up. Gallo is pretty big, sort of reminds me of a lumbering Maggette. Good at driving the lane, good at the Charity Stripe & better behind the 3 pt arc.
We still have Kaman to dangle at the deadline or in the summer.

I'd love Gallo. Wiretap states that the Clippers are interested.

Not if the Nets have anything to say about it.

Clips are 1st to reach out to Denver. I think Minny's 12' pick is fair for Gallo. Let's hope Denver doesn't think too long & hard, they just pull the trade trigger w/ the Clips.
Can you imagine Blake, Kaman, DJ, Ike & Gallo filling up the boards???

How is Gallo's defense? Sometimes it seems like Gomes is too slow to keep up defensively against quicker SFs, if Gallo is an upgrade on D, that would be awesome.

He has good fundamentals and can get down in a proper stance, not overly quick but he can slide his feet well and use his length to cover the rest. Greatest issue would be that he get's overpowered often when getting backed down.

In an interview with an Italian media, Gallo just confirmed that moving to the Clippers is a possibility.

Re: Gallo to the Clips
It hurts to give up that Minny pick though. If I'm the Clippers I'd try to offer Aminu and the Clips' own pick top 7 protected. I'd rather give up LA's pick in a weak draft and keep Minny's, they could be better next year, or they could still be the TWolves. Either way I wouldn't expect them to make the playoffs. Too many teams to jump over.

Re: Gallo to the Clips
He is not worth Minny's pick. I dont believe so. Not a star just above average player. Minny's pick could land you a better player like Granger or Wallace.
It would be very very stupid to do this move. Rather give our own 2011 pick unprotected. We could have gotten Carmelo if Nuggets want Minny pick.

Talk has it that it's the Clippers own 2011 pick which is fine.
The team did pick up two guys in the first round of the last draft and will still have 2 second rounders in the upcoming draft and then either theirs or Minny's in the following draft.

Re: Gallo to the Clips
w/ the Lockout looming and the Clips setting pieces for 2011-12 & the future, I like it. Who's to say what the 12' draft will be like if there is a Lock Out. I would rather piece the team together w/ youth(Griffin,Gordon,Jordan, Bledsoe) & Vets (Kaman & B.Davis) and know what we have and what we need. I think Gallo would give us another big(6'10) who is good in the Lane, can knock down 3's,great from the Charity line and has decent fundamentals on "D."
I understand where folks are hesitant, I get it. I just think the Clips are closer now than we were 5 years ago & next year is where we should try & win it all, then assess if we need anything else? 2012 Rookie class won't help us, 2012 Free Agent class might.

Come on fellaz if we want to be good, then sumtimes U sacrifice for the greater good. No one like this kid in the draft and we're trying to reach a point where draftees won't/don't matter. Gallo is 22(call him KD lite) a great defender and can get U 20 in his sleep. Granger is soon to be 29 and has peaked w/awful contract. Next up PG D-Will as CP3 heads to NY.

I wouldn't mind this. Gallo is a seven foot stretch SF who can shoot. Isn't that kind of what we need going forward? Gallo/Griffin/DeAndre is length at its finest.

Very smart on D. Truly underrated as a one on one defender. His pops was a defensive specialist. The guy just gets it. Not gonna lock anyone down, but he moves his feet well, draws charges, and guesses well in terms of where the ball handler is going to go.
Also, he gets to the line AT WILL. D'Antoni never utilized this guy's talents. When he had the ball in his hands, 89% of the time, GOOD THINGS HAPPENED. Shoots the FT at a 90% clip, and can get there for AT LEAST 6-7 times a game. The guy was getting defended by 6'5 to 6'8 forwards. You're not gonna stop a close to 7 footer who can put the ball on the floor. Also possesses problems for defenders in that, if you give him space, he'll knock down the 3. You stay to close for him, and BOOM he's gone and someone cops a facial. I really hope he goes to the Clippers. Perfect fit for your squad.
Check this guy out on youtube, stufava, he has all of Gallo's highlights, in every game. Here's one from Dallas.
