I would rather have Hinrich and Blatche.

How about Josh Smith - especially now that he's proven he can play both PF and SF - for Bynum? Smoove will probably always produce better numbers: points, rebounds, blocks, steals, assists. The man fills up a stat sheet. And he'll probably always be healthier.

But Bynum could defend Dwight Howard for us, hence the offer.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Damn' Deron hates the Lakers, I guess he really does, damn' he's my favorite PG. Supposedly wants to play in NY.

I have to wonder what Blatche has done to impress over McGee? I hear this respone a lot. To me, he's smaller, doesn't/can't play D and has somewhat of an attitude and unwillingness to pass. We make this trade for defense, not offense. Seems that McGee has a good attitude and like I said, a lot of potential. I think Blatche has reached his ceiling; which isnt all that high.

guys, for those who still on Hinrich boat, have you guys actually seen him play this year? I'll admit I've only seen like 3 games or so but even in this small sample I can confidently say he'll give us nothing more then what Blake is already giving us, which isn't much. His shooting has gone to the crapper, no better then the likes of Farmar, especially from 3's, his D has been mostly rep, he did a good job on Wade several occasions but he too has problems defending the speedy/quick PG's and overall for $10mill/yr he is not twice the player that Blake is or even Fish for that matter.

Attitude with Blatche is def a concern but he is a better rebounder and score around the basket. Honestly haven't seen enough of McGee to say he will not be better than Blatche but right now the Lakers need players who can contribute now and make a push at another title.

Looks like the Melo trade is going through. If Billups gets bought out by the Knicks and the Lakers don't pick him up I'll be pissed.

Hey guys so word is that NY is getting much closer to the Melo deal that would have Felton and Billups swapped, with Mosgov going to the Nuggets as well. I'm just curious if you guys think this opens the door for us in any way to make a deal (not saying we will or even should...just throwing it out there)

A trade that's pretty unrealistic but I feel like would make our team much better is Nene/Felton for Drew. The Nuggets want Lawson to be their future PG, and Nene would want to leave for a contending team. Obviously if Buss didn't move Drew for Melo this likely won't happen, but how do you guys feel about such a trade? Also do you think the Nuggets would want it?
Drew and Blake for Nene/Felton

Felton/ fish
Kobe/ shannon
Ron/ Barnes
Pau/ Lo
Nene/ Pau
We get a relatively young PG who plays above average PG D, can shoot the 3, and could make plays for himself, while keeping our twin towers + LO and defense upfront.
Nuggets would have
Lawson/ Blake
Affalo/ Jr
Gallinari/ chandler?
Martin/ Harrington
Drew/ Mosgov
Turn Nene who is likely to demand a trade any time now and Felton who they mainly got to trade (Lawson) into a young Stud center.

Haha again, this trade made some sense in my head. I apologize if its completely absurd

Chauncy is rumored as to signing with the Heat if bought out.

Drew isn't going anywhere lol. If we wouldn't trade him for Melo, he isn't getting traded for Nene even if a better PG is coming back in return. Besides I want Affalo here more tbh.

If Billups is bought out by the Knicks they would stink. Who would play PG? If true I hope we can pick him up. Do you guys think we will make a trade this year or stand pat?

Only way we improve is if Knicks buy out Chauncy which isn't likely because they still hope to use his expiring to nab themselves a star PG. And we'll probably remain how we are

Hmm, now that Melo's been taded...

Deron wants to play in NY. CP3 will go to MIA or NY. Sounds good to me, we get D12 !

Some trades because I'm totally bored, for the record i don't want to trade Bynum, but its fun to see what we can get for him.

to bad we dont have pieces but would be nice to get in on the Devin Harris sweeptake, his value seem to be at all time low if NJ is looking to replace him with Felton as reportedly rumored.

I'm just curious as to what other Laker fans think about this topic. If the Lakers fail to win a title this season, what do you see them doing? What trades do you see them trying, if you see any at all?

Bynum is the only thing of value but with him its a catch 22, only way he gets traded if he gets injuried again but that would mean his value is in the crapper.....maybe if Brown plays up to form and some team out there wants him bad enough for a S&T so he can get more money, outside of that, we got NOTHING but hey, in Mitch we trust :D
