Clippers should trade Kaman/Bledsoe for Mayo/Thabeet. If anything, Mayo and Thabeet could be great trade bait in the off season for someone like Iggy. Iggy would be an interesting fit for the Clipps, since EJ might be better off defending point guards then shooting guards. Clipps could put together a package like Mayo/Amino/Thabeet for Iggy. Team could look like this:
PF-Griffin 23 ppg/13rpg/4apg
SF-Gomes 8 ppg/5rpg/37% threes
C-Jordan 8ppg/8rpg/2bpg
PG-Iggy 14ppg/6rpg/7apg
Sg- EJ 24ppg/4rpg/4apg

No. Marvin Williams is hardly an upgrade (if at all) to the Clippers current SF. Not worth trading Kaman away for him.

We already got our invisible SF (gomes). Don't need a second one.

Just an idea, based on Melo being shipped to NY.

How about we then offer Denver two seperate deals.

1) Aminu, 2nd round pick(via Clippers, with Rockets option to switch it) for Gallinari
2) TPE for Renaldo Balkman

They'll save some money, get a young talent who's three more years on his rookie deal and a 2nd round pick probably in the low 40's, while also saving some money on Balkman.

We add Balkman's deal, but gain Gallinari, who would fit very nicely next to Gordon and Griffin.

After I saw us getting DWill and Granger, and not seeing EJ or Blake's name later in that post, I knew I was dreaming. :D

Hawks get a center so Horford can move to PF and Clippers get a PF. Zaza is thrown in for contract reasons and can fill in to back up Jordan.

Talent wise it seems fair but the Clips take on a lot more salary. Kaman will be a valued expiring contract in 2011/12. I think we can do better.

The thing with Atlanta is that they don't want to play Smith at the SF spot. If they move Horford down to PF, Smith would have to be on his way out.

Kaman + Aminu + 2nd/Cash for Smith + Zaza would work better for both teams IMO. Puts pressure on Griffin to keep improving his jumper as spacing would become an issue, but that's an all-world defensive front line in man or zone and a terrifying unit in the open court, as both Josh and Blake can start, finish and dish on the fast break with ease. Josh doesn't turn 26 until December, either.

What about this deal.....

Clippers get Gerald Wallace and Boris Diaw.

Bobcats get Kaman, Craig Smith, and either Aminu or first round pick...

Clippers get SF they are looking for and a do it all point forward in Diaw who is expiring. All Clips give up is backup center with bad contract in Kaman. Smith who is hurt right now and Aminu or draft pick.....not sure how high you guys are on Aminu, but if u get wallace then u may want to save draft pick to have choice to fill other positions.

The Clippers certainly wouldn't give up Aminu and that first rounder on top of Kaman, if they were to take on Diaw's contract as well.

Anyways, the rumors have it that we're interested in a sf that can shoot(like Gallinari) and Wallace doesn't fits that criteria.

@HERSH:
Miller would be an interesting option and the Clippers talked to him during the offseason, as far as I know.

Man, I just have an eerie feeling that no trade will get done for us...Even though we need something.

I'm not expecting anything other than Butler potentially being traded. He may end up getting bought out though.

^ I saw somewhere that the Celtics could have interest in Butler. I wonder what we would try to get back for him?

I certainly wouldn't be dancing in the streets or bestowing a bunch of praise on Hammond though.

you guys didn't like him, lol
I would say replace him with Salmons but that makes it tough to resign Jennings when Blake gets a max deal
What if you keep your pick?

I'm down for that deal. Then figure out how to play Blake and Josh Smith together later.

I would do that trade in a heart beat. Josh Smith could potentially be used as trade bait to bring in a small forward. Clipps could turn around and offer Josh Smith, Bledsoe and the 37th pick to Indiana for Granger and Dahntey Jones. Or Josh could be sent to Denver for Galinari and Anderson.
