Once again, totally agree

Nene does fit in terms of skills - hell they ALL fit - but they're all idiots with attitudes

Suns brass would never bring in either of Smith/Kmart because of their thug antics

The difference with Nene is that he has proven to be one of the more productive players in the NBA over the last couple of years...

He's efficient with the few touches he gets and he gets a lot of wide open dunks but he's far from any sort of elite offensive force like Duncan, Shaq or Yao was. As good as Tim Duncan was down low, he's only scored more than 23ppg 3 times in his career. I really can't see how Nene could "easily" do something Tim Duncan has ever done 3 times in his career.

Wide open dunks? Nuggets don't have one guy capable of creating easy shots for others since departure of Andre Miller. Nene scores most of one on one plays.

I don't see Duncan as a good comparison, he was/is great player, not great scorer, always played on slow ass teams, and never with Steve Nash. Nene here would play on fast team with Steve Nash added to his two time league best efficiency, but whatever, we can get back to this after Nuggets play few games where Nene probably will be their featured scorer (I don't believe we will get him actually).

Nene isnt going anywhere, all signs point to him re-signing in Denver.

Ok so here are a few possible trade ideas I came up with while taking a break from studying Spanish grammar.

New Jersey is in the hunt for 2012 free agents. They want to land somebody who has the ability to land stars and is a star. They missed out on Carmelo. They want to trade Devin Harris.

How about we trade them Nash for Devin Harris?

Work out a trade like this:

NJ trades:
Devin Harris
Troy Murphy (buy out)

Suns trade:
Nash
2013 1st round pick
Hakim Warrick or Josh Childress

Nets get Nash who will still be good for at least 2 or 3 more years and by that time they will have enough cap space to sign another star. Or they can use Nash as simply a guy to mentor the team and to acquire other stars around him then let him retire. Regardless, NJ wants to get rid of Devin Harris so I say we act now.

Then, this is the difficult part.

Denver is trying to rebuild their team. All signs point to them wanting to resign Nene. However, maybe we can entice them to take on a few of our young players and picks if they give up nene. I also love aaron afflalo so I'd love to get him as well. This trade may be a bit unrealistic but we're suns fans...all we do is dream.

Suns Trade:

Vince Carter (4M against the cap next year)
Robin Lopez
1st round pick in 2014 2nd round pick in 2012
Mickel Pietrus
Josh Childress or Hakim Warrick

I'd even be willing to throw in Dragic if that meant they'd give us Nene and Afflalo.

OUr new look team would consist of

Harris
Afflalo
Dudley
Nene
Gortat

we wouldn't have a bench but we could fill that in and hope to get some good bench guys. I know this is a pipe dream but it's time to rebuild and do it soon.

After realizing it, we'd have to take on a bad contract of the nuggets. They'd throw in harrington to make the salaries match up.

We might have to throw in an extra 2nd round pick to make it match up.

Ok so after reading ESPN.com it said a blurb about what the Nets want from Dallas for Devin Harris and to be honest, it's not really that much:

"Sources briefed on the teams' discussions told ESPN.com that the Nets want the expiring contract of out-for-the-season swingman Caron Butler, Mavs rookie Dominique Jones and a first-round pick. "

So essentially instead of giving up Nash we can do:

Vince Carter's contract
Goran Dragic
1st round pick in 2011(orlando pick)

Yes it would hurt to give up Goran, but I'd do it if it meant getting Harris. He's better.

No thanks. Harris is overrated IMO. Giving up Dragic is bad enough, but also giving up a pick? Dominique Jones hasn't really proved anything yet either.

Good try though. Maybe replace Jones with Beaubois, and a Dallas pick and we might start talking?
