Upcoming Buyouts

Post#1 » by Dalakerbox » Wed Feb 23, 2011 2:43 pm

Now I'm thinking maybe a trade is not what we need. Maybe we can reach out to guys like Troy Murphy or/and T.J Ford. Both will help with our needs and can score a little something. The thing neither brings is D though, which may effect anyone thinking of bringing them in. But besides them are there any other players out there that can fill our needs and may potentially be bought out in time to make a playoff roster?

(thinking aloud)

Well we could use another reliable big, and it doesn't hurt that he can also stretch the floor for us. I would much rather see him get back up minutes instead of Character,Smith or Ratliff...just saying

The problem is we don't have the minutes for another big, and we need guard help more. This is why Phil should play our rookies and little more often becaue it's working out for Boston and San Antonio.

^^ I hear you but our Rooks won't help win us a championship. Troy would at least help, and God forbid we get another injury to a big (Bynum) and we're left with Character and Smith. Troy wouldn't expect a ton of minutes just playing for a ring should make him happy, but we do need a guard that is why I mentioned T.J Ford, but I honestly would welcome dumbo Ears back too

How are we going to get Farmar back, and why we want him back for.

We need a big and a PG...

Farmar provides absolutely none of what we need though... He isn't the best passer, doesn't like our offense, and doesn't play defense.

He's quick up the court with the ball in his hands... That's about it.

So if there are buyouts in either of those positions, we need to look at them.

I would love to see and Odom and Murphy front court off the bench. I think is would be a match made in hell for other teams.

SF:Artest/Barnes
PF:Gasol/Odom
C:Bynum/Murphy
SG:Bryant/Brown
PG:Fisher/Blake

I love it Murphy would be the safty blanke we need if Bynum were to go down again. I love our bigs rotation as is but add Murphy just makes up a little harder to beat. The dude can flat out shoot and rebound, were already on of the bets rebounding teams in the leauge.

I like Murphy idea, especially if Theosaurus is done for the year.....he can spread the floor for Bynum, solid duo between Odom/Pau and Murphy/Bynum so much versatility......as for PG there NOTHING out there thats going to help us anyways unless by way of trade, Ford is horrible from what I've seen and heard.

Honestly Farmar gave us points when we needed points he gave us energy when we needed that. Agreed he gives us no D, but who would that's left as an option? I do think Blake is better playmaker, but Farmar got us those points himself, while Blake will penetrate, set a man up for an open look, just to watch someone like Ron Clank it. And the only reason I mention Jordan is because he was mentioned last night. No idea what we would give up for him, but if it's possible I say green light that shyt.

The problem is we only have one spot left.

I get why you brought him up, I just don't understand why it's happening if it is...
There's got to be a better fit for us.

I was completely unimpressed with Farmar so maybe I'm not seeing his good points. I thought he was completely non-existant in the post season last year, but maybe that was just me not seeing the good...

Which we should do anyways. Ford is decent the last time i saw him play we could get both. Lets if we buyout anyone.

That's is pretty much the only thing we can do which it is a shame because Theo wanted to end his career with a ring.
