Honestly Mitch has been mediocre at best as a GM here in L.A...Still scratching my head over Luke Walton's contract

Mediocre?

Lol, I guess a couple of bad moves completely negate the fact Mitch practically made one of the biggest steals in sports history, and the fact we've had 3 finals appearances since that quote, unquote trade..

Or maybe Mitch is mediocre because we traded for Trevor Ariza (someone who wasn't vital at all in our 08-09 championship run) or maybe, just maybe because after the Ariza debacle Mitch decided to get Ron Artest for the MLE, and despite his offensive shortcomings this year.. he surely didn't have any effect on us winning the ship last year either.

 Mediocre Mitch, thanks for nothing (even though we're repeating champs)

Theosaurus Ratliff :-? , looks like age has finally caught up to the dude, dam what waste though, after the mckey/vlade debacle I would've hoped Mitch stopped trying to get these old injury prone guys, its not like we a bunch of young guys or anything....especially a backup to a spot thats as crucial as it is with Bynum injury history.....it sickening when you see younger/cheaper backup C in the league like Hollins, Mahini types.

I dont want to start a new thread for 11th man on Lakers roster so I guess I'll ask it here: Is Caracter any good? He put up some decent games when he got minutes and he was at one point as highly regarded as Oden when both were in high school.

So what's the outlook on Caracter so far?

Derrick Caracter has some pretty nice post moves, but at times, he seems to play out of control. He needs to slow it down more and be patient, but what do you expect, he's a rookie.

I think Phil is saving Theo for the playoffs. 8-)

I sure hope so and I can see that...

I don't get any Theo bashing going on... I think he's exactly what we need in that roll on our team.

A tough unintimidatable vet long-body that isn't afraid to block some shots.

Not many minutes needed, just enough to keep Drew and Pau fresh.

Blame Phil for that because he's the one who ask Mitch to get a vet in here that knows what is doing especially in the playoffs.

Looks like Theo might be back for the playoffs afterall... Any other word on this? Is this a reliable source?

this late into the season as old as he is, I dont think it'll matter much if he's back or not, if Bynum goes down (knock on wood) Ratliff wouldn't be much better then Caracter at this point.

Admittedly, if we're counting on any kind of real production from either Ratliff or Caracter, we're screwed...

But in an emergency, it's better to have bigs than not have them and any kind of insurance we can get for Bynum/Gasol/Odom is a good thing. There's no substitute for size.

Ratliff and Caracter are 12 hard fouls that can be used.
