The Hawks-Wiz deal would be Hinrich for Jamal Crawford, source says. Not done, but close.

It really sucks to be a Hawks fan. Out of all the options that were on the market at pg(Harris,Sessions, Miller,Calderon)I was praying that they wouldn't trade for Hinrich. He's a mediocre offensive player(and this team needs offense)that is living off a defensive reputation from 4 years ago.

87 percent of Hinrich's FG attempts are jumpshots and he gets to the line twice a game.

I'll wait and see for myself to judge if he plays good defense. The Wizards are a bad defensive team and Hinrich's plus/minus is still terrible. That's not much to go on...but it wouldn't surprise me if his defense has fallen off in the last 4 years. He's 30 years old.

Certainly would have preferred Sessions (even Calderon), but I'll take it. Let's see what we gave up, but something had to happen....

Edit: For Crawford? Don't feel great about it...

I am hoping that we moved Marvin, Teague, and Bibby and get back Hinrich, Sessions, and a big and a SF. Hell right now I wouldn't mind moving Josh Smith, Moe Evans, and ZAZA for Nash and Lopez and/or Childress then send Teague, or Jordan and the 2011 2nd for Sessions.

The Hawks will struggle to crack 80 ppg in the 1st round if they make this trade.

That's the point. Their offense is already mediocre. It will get alot worse if they make this trade.

So they never wanted to pay any LT, even not tried to offer 3M to Shaq (instead of the minimum they offered) and stay under the LT, because they always said it would be for the right player, and now...
they will pay LT for Hinrich ?..

Nobody talks about it, but Crawford traded for a player under contract mean LT next season, unless other players are involved and we get also expiring contract.

If they start to spend some money to win, I like it, but it's a bit strange to see that happening with Hinrich being the main player coming.

Maybe Marvin and/or Zaza are also involved, and we get some expiring, like Yi Jianlian, Josh Howard, Al Thornton or Nick Young.

It could be the opportunity to test some of these players, and if the team really improve, they can keep them, pay LT next season, but have a better team.

Maybe a Teague/Seraphin flip in the trade ?

I really hope we get a pick from Atlanta. I can't find myself supporting this trade if we're just getting back Jamal Crawford.

Alex Kennedy - 02/23/2011 6:57pm EST-

The Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards are on the verge of completing a trade, sources close to the situation tell HOOPSWORLD. Kirk Hinrich and Hilton Armstrong would be sent to Atlanta in exchange for Mike Bibby, Maurice Evans and Jordan Crawford. The details are still being worked out, but the deal is expected to be completed before tomorrow's deadline.

I have a Mike Bibby jersey. Anyone here interested? :D For what it's worth. Kennedy does not have the greatest, eh, reputation.

No one is talking about your hypothetical scenario. I'm talking about the rumor of Crawford for Hinrich in the thread title.

Bibby set the best screens on the team. I'll miss that.

Sad that we didn't get Sessions, I really wanted someone who could get to the line when jump shots are falling.

Bulls fan here -

Hinrich & Johnson would make an intriguing backcourt. Hinrich is no all-star, but his bball IQ dwarfs that of Crawford. In thinking ahead to a potential Bulls/ Hawks playoff matchup, I hope you don't do this trade ...

I'm seeing conflicting reports on the parties involved. Guess will see if anyone sits out tonight's game.
