Knicks Watch

Post#1 » by el loco » Wed Feb 23, 2011 11:00 pm

Wow, what an inception they gave to Mr. Big Shot, they asked him one freaking question and cut him off when he wanted to make a response to another. I think they did him crappy during the event and they didn't do much to make him feel welcomed. Hopefully, their fans will give him and the rest of the guys a better greating during the introductions during their game tonight. I hated seeing him in Knicks attire.

At least Melo learned one thing while in a cow town, and that's how to spread some manure  He is still saying that he wants to buy into playing defense, so far he hasn't delivered on this politically correct statement, for Knicks fans I hope he finally does.

James Dolan was reading from a piece of paper :noway: and seemed more concerned about his man love of Isiah then he did about the players that he just acquired.

Game 1 of the NY Nuggets era

MSG looked like it was rocking during the introductions, I wish I could have heard it. There will probably be a sound technician looking for a new job tomorrow

Billups had a nice 1st quarter, he drilled a pull up 3 and also dished out 4 dimes. Melo looked like the Melo of old, he is playing with some energy out there, he also looks funny wearing the number 7, he still gets lost between man and ball on defense. At the moment he is 3/10 from the floor.

Both guys struggled in the first half. If melo would shave his mug, he would look like Harrington with that big 7 on his jersey. I think he chose that number as a tribute to big AL

They both came alive a bit in the 2nd half, Melo came up big for them in the 4th, and even though Billups struggled with his shot tonight, he still does what he does in games like this and that is find his way to the free throw line.

Billups: 21 pts, 8 ast, 6 rebs
Anthony: 27 pts, 10 rebs

Amare was pretty classy and allowed the game to be deferred to them, hopefully this is the only time he will do this because they are going to need him to continue doing what he was doing before the trade if the Knicks are going to make things work. The MSG crowd was great to both guys late in the game, props to them for that, it was a nice gesture from them. In my opinion the player of the game for the Knicks was Toney Douglas, he had a nice game tonight.

This is my favorite team in the east by default, so I want them to succeed.

It wasn't pretty but they managed to get the win, which is what matters the most.

Billups got his name chanted when he went to the FT line at the end.

He played by far the best out there today

His shot was off, but so was Melo's. I think this is because both guys had to be tired as hell, and because neither guy is used to playing with the team yet. They will improve in this area in a few games.

I haven't seen Billups in a long time but I think he was incredible today.

I understand why a lot of guys in Denver didn't want to get rid of him. Great, efficient, point guard even for a 35 year old.

I think Melo struggled today but still put up sick numbers.

Lastly, please take care of my Knicks, I really miss those guys already (especially Gallo and my Italian Connection :waaa:

Thanks guys, best of luck the rest of the year.

How do you think some of us Knick fans feel? Give Chandler, Felton, Moz a big hug for me. And a kiss for Gallo.

I'll miss those guys... :(

lol let's put it this way, I will root for maybe there being some sort of "revelation" and Amare and Melo can at least figure out how to work together as well as DWade and LeBron......oh and they're up next so there's first chance to do it

you can lead a mule to water but you can't make him drink....well, ok you can make him drink but by the time he does all the other mules have already followed him and died of thirst

ok maybe i am taking that analogy to the extreme a bit....or am I

 Some of us especially Corona tried to tell you Knicks fans, we went through having 2 superstars who do not like to play defense, and prefer going one on one, over working within the team. We won 50 games and got slaughtered in the playoffs in the close to 2 years they were together. Not as good of a plan as some will sell. If you are going to have 2 superstars you really need one of them who wants to share the ball and help with the dirty work especially playing help defense. Hope you have better luck with Melo and Stat then we did with Melo and AI.
