Oklahoma City Thunder @ San Antonio Spurs 02/23/11

Post#1 » by slick_watts » Wed Feb 23, 2011 11:46 pm

Second of a back to back, on the road against the best team in the NBA. Suffice to say, the Thunder will have to bring their A+ game to take this one.

Guarding 3 point shooters.

How does it work?

This team plays stupid defense. Every damn possession for SAS is PnR, drive the lane, some idiot on OKC will help off the perimeter for no reason, and they get a three.

We're 3-14 from 3.

They're 12-17.

That's basically the difference in the game.

How are we even in this game?

I think what we really need more than a center is a defense coach. At the minimum he'll need to tell the players not to leave players open on the 3 pt line. Anything else is a bonus.

At least Durant had a good game against the Spurs, that's progress :(

Can't believe Green still has supporters. I knew right when he came back into the game the offense would grind to a halt, and there would be defensive mistakes. Cook was moving around baseline, drawing defense. Green just sits in the corner and the defense ignores him. Green leaves Bonner open in transition for three. Etc. etc.

tough loss, that was the hardest we played all year. Ibaka and Harden were Beasts, everyone else were decent to good, but Green played terribly tonight.

I'm still encouraged about this game though. If we continue to play with this much fight and effort we will get the 3rd seed. Its just a matter of bringing it to start every game.

http://blog.newsok.com/thunderrumblings ... under-105/

The dribble penetration created a gang of opportunities yet again for the Spurs. And, again, they made the Thunder pay, connecting on 13 of 21 3-pointers. “The first half, it was ridiculous,” Brooks said. “In the first half, they made eight out of 11. Six of them were mistakes on our part. We were overhelping when help wasn’t necessary.”

slick will get a kick out of that........

okc wins this game if ibaka plays ten of green's minutes. it's sad that you could probably say that about a few other games this year. that whole situation is trouble. it wouldn't surprise if it costs okc a playoff series.

Even though my Spurs have beaten the Thunder 6 times in a row I know that the thunder will beat us eventually. And everyone else in he West too. the Spurs won last night because of three point shooting.

You guys are 1 solid big away from ruling the West - I hope you don't get him today.

Obviously the Laker game is huge is you want the 3rd seed. I love Westbrook and like Durant and Ibaka.

The thunder scared me to death last night. If last nights game was a prize fight we'd have won a controversial split decision. We didn't beat the thunder - we just beat them off of us. Lol

Good luck gents.
