Not the first time. But I did but Ruz's Roiders to win the fantasy football league a few years back. So that's something, right?

Chad Ford:
The Jazz have a payroll of $75.2 million, putting them roughly $4.9 million over the luxury tax line this season. So if they can make trades that get them under the $70.3 million tax threshold, that would be a big incentive. In terms of what else they want in return, the Jazz are looking for a dynamic 2-guard and additional help up front.

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_ ... -utah-jazz

CCJ fantasy trade:
Milsap and Raja Bell for Blatche, Young and Atlanta's 1st rounder

Utah gets closer to the lux tax line, clears space for Jefferson inside, gets out from the Raja mistake.
Washington convinces Jerry Sloan to unretire and replace Flip, just so he can stick it to Deron WIlliams 4 times a year.
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

I'm watering my mouth just thinking of having a PF that is a career 52% shooter and plays bigger than his size...

"Portland is looking for a backup point guard and a scoring big man to play in the rotation behind Aldridge–and perhaps alongside Aldridge when he plays center."

I doubt we could pry Batum, and he'd be my first choice of Blazers (I think a perfect fit next to Wall and NY), but if we can turn Blatche/Bibby into Oden/Anything I might stop hating Ernie as our GM.

Even if you see Oden as just an expiring with no future value, I see that as a plus over our future $$ commitments to B1 and B2.

NOW DO
Josh Howard or Maurice Evans (Vladimir Veremeenko rights is the new Profit) :D
for
Bostons 1st

"In the interim, the Celtics have been linked to players like Corey Brewer and Kirk Hinrich who wound up elsewhere, and for a brief moment to Shane Battier who has gone nowhere. As quickly as a rumor surfaces, it gets shot down just as fast. The other names haven’t change Anthony Parker, Dahntay Jones, Josh Howard"

Not if you know how bad I am at fantasy football. 8-)

And not that I hold any grudge about losing. :x

I think one way or the other Nick will be back next year. I also think Howard will too as the primary backup to both wing positions, if not as the starting SF.

Shakur or PG TBA can handle the backup point duties.

Let's get some value for Kirk. Ideally it would be more than straight expirings, but even if it is, we'll have gotten Seraphin essentially for free. If we can squeeze another pick or prospect out of irk, it would be awesome.

Thanks for reading, Ernie. Let me know know if you need any more advice.

fishercob, I feel optimistic about the General Manager's competence now. The subtle part about attaining Crawford is it brings down some of Nick's leverage in contract negotiation talk to come.

Getting Jordan Crawford, a player doclinkin and many others of us loved coming out of Xavier; and also getting a 2011 first; that could turn out to be Kenneth Faried, or Jordan Williams, or Charles Jenkins--I'm overjoyed with this. Great, great trade for Washington.

Under Leonsis at draft day, Ernie did well getting Booker, Seraphin, and of course Wall. The Arenas/Lewis trade was a very good way to move forward. Mustafa Shakur is probably more than a decent stopgap player. Now Kirk is gone and he will get some burn.

don't know about Bibby--but he's more valuable than Kirk IMO. Keep him and trade for a soon-to-be disgruntled Josh Smith? :)

Wow. Ernie Grunfeld, Lyrical Rico, like light-skinned brothers at the dunk contest he's back! Your dad did it, LR. You were right about Ernie.

What about trading Blatche to Utah for AK47?

I think the price for Millsap would be too high. While it would be appealing to have a low post scorer like Al Jefferson, I think Jefferson with McGee would be a disaster defensively. I think there would be some struggles with a Lewis/AK47/McGee front-court but it also could create some difficulties for other teams.

I think Utah may want a 3rd team to take Blatche(because they end up with 3 PFs), but if you add enough filler it can get Utah under the luxury tax, which saves them a little over 6 million plus whatever the luxury tax payment is. If the Wizards throw in some cash and maybe Utah includes a pick.

Wizards out:
Blatche
Thornton
Josh Howard
M. Evans

Utah out:
Ak47
Earl Watson
F. Elson

Did you hear about them playing together for the first time since UK?

As big of a Flip hater as I've been, I think Cousins is the kind of player that would force Flip to win. Flip is enough of a hater coach that he can handle Cousins. Saunders would like Cousins the same as he likes Blatche. DeMarcus is 20 and folks who worry about him NEVER changing cannot read minds or predict the future.

I want to see them get Cousins on the cheap, eltacoman.

Wall is the man in DC. Unlike Tyreke, Wall is a passer first. This is his team. Michigan lost in the Final Four but you didn't see Howard., Rose, or Webber ever turn on each other. Wall and Cousins know each other well. Cousins' outbursts are not something to worry about because of Wall,

Acquire Cousins knowing he's got Sheed/Artest/Stephen Jackson volatility.

Funny thing is all those guys with an edge, trades and all, have championship rings.

We need to clear our cap as much as possible and try to team up Dwight Howard with John Wall in 2012. That's our only chance to become a contender in the new Eastern Conference.

Dwight just isn't happening unless Wall has a Rose-esque rise where he's considered a legit MVP candidate. Too bad the Wiz gave up Memphis' first for Critter. They'd have to pay the piper this year. Essentially the Wiz would have 3 first this draft, albeit a low teens and high twenties, but once you get into consolidation packages it starts to get to be about quantity rather than quality. McGee/Memphis 1st/Hawks 1st/Wiz protected 2012 first sort of looks like a good package for Bogut...ah well, fun to dream.

Nick Young, Andray Blatche, Rashard Lewis, Josh Howard, and Mike Bibby. Ernie should be on the phone right now trying to get as much as possible for these players. Get as many picks, expirings, and prospects as possible.

The Wizards should be in full sell mode. Wall is the only untouchcable.

Would be very nice if EG could follow up yesterdays trade by somehow shipping out Blatche for just about anything in return that includes a pick. I'm really hoping the Draft will be very fun/interesting for this team in the coming years as we stockpile picks.

How about this deal... it's a gamble but could lead to a dream front court.

Successful Trade Scenario: Trade ID #5865737

here is how it breaks down:
#1: wiz send: McGee, Mo Evans, Wiz 2011 #1 (top 5 protected 2011) and Atl #1 to Sactown for Cousins, Greene

#2: wiz send: Blatche, Bibby, and Josh Howard to Portland for Andre Miller (team opt) and Greg Oden (Qual Opt)

Wiz young core:
Wall/
Young/ Crawford
Greene
Cousins/Booker
Oden/Serephin

with Lewis, yi, thorton, miller

It's going to be hard to do a Howard (or Thornton) to Boston trade, because of the salaries. I'd guess we'd ask for Avery Bradley, and the salaries don't quite work. But I wouldn't be surprised if either Howard or Thornton or both are traded today.

Cousins AND Oden? I'd go after 1 or the other - but not both.

Also, Greene is the guy Cousins got in a fight with recently. It might be better to pass on Greene.

According to the Checker either could be dealt straight up for Marquis Daniels. The problem is I'm not sure I see Daniels agreeing to the trade (even though he's likely out for the season).

It would probably have to be structured as seperate deals but I'd do this:

Bibby+Howard

for

Nate+Daniels+Harangody+first

Then we can send Thornton to anybody with a TPE or cap space in return for a second round pick.

Casspi might make more sense. Or just go with Lewis for now and address the future in the draft.
