FWIW: The Clippers current commited payroll for 2012 now stands at 25 mill.

Chad Ford Clippers have only $25 mil in committed payroll for summer of 2012. Think Deron Williams would like to play w/ Blake Griffin? via twitter

All I ask is a center, Otis. I would love something bigger, but just get Dwight some help please.

RT @WavyStalker: anything on the Magic, like J-rich's expiring contract? -- they have talked extension with him, he's not going anywhere...

Anyone in here ever go clay shooting? Otis Smith is the shotgun and the trades are the clays... Pull....Trades destroyed

He is eligible to sign an extension of up to six seasons with a maximum first-year salary of $15.9 million.

orlandopinstripedpost.com:  No NBA team would give him such a lucrative figure, but as he's one of the NBA's best non-superstar shooting guards, he will command at least eight figures on the free-agent market. The deadline to extend existing contracts is June 30th.

Notably--and I've mentioned this fact before--powerful player agent Dan Fegan represents both Richardson and Magic franchise center Dwight Howard. And though Orlando reserve point guard Gilbert Arenas represents himself in salary discussions, he consults with Fegan, his former agent, on occasion. Richardson, Howard, and Arenas are Orlando's three highest-paid players.

Z-Bo was reportedly talking with Memphis Mgmt. about "an extension". Reported just a few hrs ago.

Anyhow, we aquired J-Rich exactly 2 months ago, which made him eligible to trade yesterday and now, today's 3pm deadline. Dunno, but i'd like to see J-Rich for the long term, dunno if i'd like to sacrifice both J-Rich & Bass for just Z-Bo (as reported).

Oh, and TJM, GREAT POINT w/ Fegan representing Howard, Arenas, and J-Rich. So the extension kind of seems inevitable now, hopefully sooner than later (June 30th).

really? i never knew that.

gives me more hope Otis can convince him to opt out and restructure his deal at the end of next season, considering he won't have an agent in his ear shutting the notion down.

Exactly. At first, it was said "if we didn't contend in the NBA Finals, J-Rich likely wouldn't be re-signed". Now, as opposing teams upgrade (via trade), Orlando (well, Otis) doesn't really want to mortgage any of the team's young assets so an extension seems on par. A fair one too, especially how he's represented by Dan Fegan (as TJM pointed out). J-Rich is a good guy, one Otis is very familar with, and at times as been the lone bright spot since two trades.

Depending on new CBA, 3Yrs/$33M? (something in that ballpark?)
