Irving is the only true Clippers fit that I see in this draft, but I think the pick is an asset that could've fetched something more than a shorter contract. Is that their intention? To terminate Williams? I think it could be because the Mo Williams/Blake/Gordon combo makes little sense from a basketball perspective.

I actually feel really really sad for Baron....

Not only is he a Los Angeles boy, but he graduated from Santa Monica High school, which is a few blocks away from where i live.

He was easily playing his best Clipper B-Ball along Griffin, just that he kept missing games with injury (or laziness :-? ). But to be traded to a team that ACTUALLY HAS A WORST RECORD THAN THE CLIPPERS and going from Los Angeles to Cleveland....wow....id rather call it a career.

RIP Baron.

Neither Williams nor Gordon are natural point guards, so it will be interesting to see what type of offense that they run.

"Baron Davis announces retirement" on the Wiretap is surely soon to come.

Not a good trade for the Clippers..

Looking at the west after all these trades. New Year, they could have been contenders if they didn't trade him....

This was a bad trade for the Clip Show.

That would be an awesome deal for the Cavs...

The only reason the Clippers went through with this is to drop Barons salary. Now they find out the team they sent him to ALONG with their lottery picks gets to wipe him off their books? Crazy.

It's Mo's option to terminate his contract early. No way he turns down that guaranteed money. Especially in LA.

It has to suck being a veteran and getting traded to a team that likely won't compete in the next few years. The Clippers still have a long ways to go, but Mo definitely won out in this deal.

And for the Clippers sake, please tell me that pick is protected.

Per Jason Lloyd:

#Cavs tried also getting Minny's unprotected #1 next yr, which LAC holds. LAC wouldn't do it. Likes next year's draft better than this year

Multiple sources have confirmed the Clippers '11 pick is completely unprotected.

The supposed weakness of the 2011 draft is almost purely mythical, based on a ton of assumptions about players not coming out for the draft, and probably some ignorance of the European talent as well.

This is an absolutely abysmal, ridiculous trade. Has anyone ever before sold an unprotected lotto pick?
