There are no game changers in the upcoming draft.

Perhaps some good players but truly no one to get too excited over...

last year's draft was a weak draft. A VERY weak draft.

This year's draft is a bonanza compared to last year's. But we didn't hear all this whining about how weak it was. Look at draftexpress' rankings. They have Brandon Knight at 25. Brandon Knight going 25 this year and Wes Johnson going number 4 last year SAYS IT ALL.

Here's the draft we got the last time there was a looming lockout:

If that Gerald Wallace trade also goes down the Bobcats and Cavs have just rocketed up my "must watch" list. Team SJax and Boom Fizzle's Cavs.

This trade is so awesome, can't wait for when Baron is introduced to the media.

This is probably the greatest day of Mo Williams life. Movin' out to LA to play with Blake Griffin away from the lifeless black hole that is the Cleveland Cavs.

Baron has been rejuvenated playing with Blake. Now they trade him for a chucking PG who can't pass the ball. If I'm BG I'm pissed.

Baron is not going to play hard in Cleveland at all. Trade him to the worst team in the league with no talent. Why would Cleveland want any part of a potentially unhappy Baron Davis.

They'd laugh at him, considering how his contract is much more than his value. He can always accept a buyout.

Because they were able to get an unprotected top 10 pick for Mo freaking Williams.

Baron's contract isn't an issue for the Cavs, considering Mo's contract is just as long, and Gilbert is willing to spend whatever it takes. Sure Baron's costs significantly more, but the Cavs were never going to sign someone significant via free agency in the next couple years anyway.

Sessions has outperformed Mo, and he will continue to be the team's primary PG. Davis can get fat and rot on the bench for all the Cavs care. Maybe he'll be so miserable that he'll demand a buyout. If only...

Brandon Knight has sucked horribly this season but I get your point. He was very good in HS but he's struggling quite a bit in transition to better competition.

I get the idea of the Clips moving Baron's money while he has value (he was seemingly immovable just a few months ago) but I do not understand how making a move to save 11-12 mil is a smart thing to do when it means dealing a lotto pick with zero protection as well as disrupting team chemistry. Can someone please explain to me how this is at all a smart move on LA's part? I get that Bledsoe is likely the PG of their future but I think veteran leadership is being vastly underrated here unless management feels that Gordon and Griffin are ready to lead the team while Bledsoe is capable of directing traffic out on the floor.

Yeah I mean, Knight isn't solid gold. But last year, he'd go top 15.

It's pretty simple, Clippers get out from under Baron Davis' contract, Cavaliers get a draft pick and someone guaranteed to help them tank until the next big draft.

Baron Davis: 13M, 14M, 14.9M (partial)
Maurice Williams: 9.3M, 8.5M player option, 8.5M player option

It's too bad Davis didn't play up to his contract in his own city. He wasn't horrible, but he was complacent despite his big payday and homecoming. Did his bad offseason training contribute to LAC's motivation to trade him?

Now, if they find a way to move Kaman, they'll be incredibly flexible in the rebuild around Griffin, Jordan, and whoever else they want in their core. I'm excited to see if they can shake the Clippers curse.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

I actually agree. The Clippers just made the very first mistake that Cleveland made that ultimately led to LeBron leaving. When you have a young superstar, you simply cannot be trading first round picks. Unless you are a small hand full of teams, the only way to get a 2nd superstar to turn your team into a contender with is through the draft.

You have to give up assets if you want another team to take your bad contracts. Those assets are either young talent or draft picks.

Terrible move, I really feel bad for BDiddy, and I thought they worked really well with Blake.
And it’s not like he left his home for something big like Chauncey did, dude’s gonna be playing for the f…ing Cavs! So sad
