Does this push us past the Cardinals? I had an arguement with a friend of mine that the Cubs can win this division because the Cardinals would be distracted with the Pujols/Larusa contracts and that as good as the Reds are on paper, they still have Dusty Baker at the helm.

I still think the Reds and Brewers have better teams. But yeah, this is HUGE. The Cards are the ultimate stars-and-scrubs team...if they lose any of their stars, they're screwed.

Tommy John surgery confirmed today. He's out for the season per ESPN. The central just got a lot more interesting.
