News concerning our most realistic acquisition:

@STEIN_LINE_HQ Marc Stein
BOS, ORL, MIA, NYK ... all will be suitors for bought-out Troy Murphy. But word is other teams could emerge post-deadline after dust settles

@STEIN_LINE_HQ Marc Stein
As I believe @ChrisMannixSI noted, here's what we do know now: Murphy wants to go to playoff situation so he can end that postseason drought

I really believe in the guy, it'd be stupid just to void his deal. We'd still be over the cap nonetheless, plus I think I'm one of the very few who believe in Gil. Good things take time, his surgically repaired knee takes time, understanding his role takes time, and eventually Meer or Gil (which will be harder to move) will go. My guess, Meer.

That's like letting J-Rich's deal expire without getting anything in return :(

Until we find a suitor, no way in hell we buy him out, or a Rule like that takes place. :lol:

See what he can do, establish some value before jumping the gun.

i dont think SVG and Gil mesh. Stan has one view of how Gil should play, but it isnt Gil's style of play.

@WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Eddy Curry started workouts at Tim Grover's facility in Chicago, with hopes of getting into shape and signed. Grover will earn his money.

Miami is gonna take a look at him according to his agent (who happend to be one of "LeBron's people", the guy who set up these superteams) .. Would be very funny if he would become a legit NBA player again after being laughed at for 4 years ..

If eddy curry happened to get into shape, I'd give him a chance here. Better than our current situation.

More news bout other teams from Steve Kyler @ HW:

Keep an eye on Dallas; they have been linked to Atlanta's Josh Smith, Miami's Mike Miller and Detroit's Tayshaun Prince, and seem poised to make a deal…

Denver may have another deal up their sleeve, Nuggets' VP Masai Ujiri hinted that his team was done, but there are rumblings that Raymond Felton wants no part of backing up Ty Lawson, meaning Raymond could be re-traded before the day is finished…

Here's some news that interest us:
The Magic are sitting on a $6.8 million Traded Player Exception and a $1.8 million Traded Player Exception and have an extremely unhappy superstar in Dwight Howard. The Magic may not want to spend those chips and pay luxury tax, but it seems they may have to, to keep Dwight Howard happy…

The Utah Jazz may do another deal involving Raja Bell. Sources close to the situation say he'd like to be moved and wants no part of rebuilding in Utah. We'll see if the Jazz honor that request, they have done so in the past.

Raja Bell would be nice for us. He's a good perimeter defender ..

Sorry for posting all these tweets, but I think some of the news is quite interesting since it involves some of our "rivals" and players we want/dream about

@WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Boston, Chicago and several more would love to pry Jared Dudley out of Phoenix, sources say. Suns can't dump Childress deal, need money off.

@KBerg_CBS Ken Berger
Sixers had been widely shopping Iguodala, but with recent winning ways, he's off the market, sources say.
Also, it appears the Suns will keep their word and not trade Steve Nash. But rival teams believe he could be had around the draft.

Stan wants Arenas to play well, Arenas prefers poorly.

Who is dallas willing to trade for josh smith? I swear I'm beginning to think that other gms don't like otis or for that matter don't take him seriously therefore we always get fleeced.or big deadline move is going to be troy effing murphy? A guy not good enough to play for the nets? Lol. We had a two year window now it looks like we might be forced to blow it up and start over.oh yeah we don't have any draft picks either. Lol

As I wrote yesterday, the Hawks have floated Josh Smith in several trade scenarios to gauge interest. ATL asking for a lot in return though. 7 minutes ago via web

And why is that? Cause he and Avery Johnson are not on the same page, heck not even in the same book. He never really wanted to play for NJ

I don't think Atlanta would wanna trade with the division rival they're facing in the first round of the playoffs ..

what pisses me off is that we had the trade pieces for iggy back in december. gortat, vince's expiring, to name some. we could've gotten back iggy and nocioni. but no. otis was more interested in bringing back his golden state boy jrich and an overpayed turkoglu.

say it with me folks.........comfort trades. otis isn't a gm that takes chances in trades. he only goes for guys he's familiar with.

had we gotten mr. iguodala we could've been competing with boston and miami for 1st seed. we pissed off our trade pieces for offense players who have no interest in playing defense. we let the kings score over 100pts. what kind of **** is that?

if dwight leaves who can blame him? would you stay?

Everyone has improved or is improving .. We're the one contender that has huge problems that need to be solved for us to compete with BOS/MIA and we don't solve them .. (yes, any team that has the best big man in the league and the only worthy MVP is considered a contender)

Again, there are plenty of players available, and even though we don't have the assets to land Paul, we do have the assets to surround Dwight with a better team than this ..
