I dont mind us not making a move, but if they want Lee, its ridiculous to refuse to trade Lee. I love Asik, but his upside is not any more than a above average backup C IMO. That's mighty fine, but the fact that this is his best case scenario that might happen, and hes the hinderance to filling a glaring hole in a year when people are mentioning you as a contender, its a little questionable to say the least.

That said, unless we were going for Mayo and SJax, I'm fine with not making a move. Lee is ok but I'm not overwhelemed with him and beleive there will be better options in the offseason or next deadline.

The Bulls are letting a guy who played 30 seconds last night get in the way of acquiring a real SG. If we're not going to play him and develop him, trade him. We are a contending team NOW.

If nothing else is out there and it's 1:59 this afternoon, I'd probably do it. I don't think we can afford to completely strike out.

Who would give two 1st rounders for an aging expiring like Parker? I'd be surprised if we have the Heat pick for him alone.

If this is true, I honestly can't believe that we wouldn't pull the trigger on this.

Teams calling Houston on Courtney Lee keep getting same message: No big in deal, no trade. Will Bulls cave and give Omer Asik? So far, no.

so unless Chicago get another team involve with a big man, Lee is staying in Houston

I'll take a shot in the dark and say Raja Bell is who we get.

We didn't sign him in the offseason, and I think one of the reasons why was that third year he got from Utah. We wanted to only give him 2 with a low/no guaranteed 3rd (like Korver, Watson, Brewer).

I wonder if we've asked after CJ Miles, though. We could save Utah a decent amount (not sure if it'd get them under the tax) but I doubt they'd want to pay the tax for what now looks like a non-playoff team.

How could you NOT do this, seriously?

Because the Bulls are thinking long term. Having 47yr old Kurt Thomas and 42 yr old Brad Miller as your lone backups isn't going to help you next year or the year after.

That, and apparently Asik is a desired commodity, so he must not be too bad?

Calm down. Their GM said they are looking for three point shooting and a PF. There was a rumor a while ago they would want the package of Taj, Asik and the Cat's pick for Mayo. It's called negotiating. Let's not pretend Mayo holds some great value.

Taj+Korver+the Bulls 1st is a fair trade for a out of favor Mayo and their back up PF who is a worse player than Taj. And I myself am not a big Taj fan.

This is absolutely ridiculous. The Bulls FO has gone from overvaluing guys like Deng to overvaluing 13th men. The fact that KC is talking about this in the past tense also isn't a good sign.

Hollinger's chat says he "thinks" no deal for Bulls explaining that they are traditionally "conservative on the trade front." Yep, they only made at least one deadline deal every year for the last several years. Pretty conservative.

OK, to be fair, he said he didn't expect them to "panic" because their "future is so bright." That is true, of course, but I don't think the Bulls are anywhere near as "conservative" as they are alleged. If not whealing and dealing like Isiah Thomas makes you conservative, so be it, but I'd say they are judicious and methodical but most defnitely assertive.

Have you seen Millers contract? Its friggin terrible. And Miller + Thomas would be so dangerously slow and weak defensivly. It makes no sense to do that trade.

So I'm guessing all the people that bash Tech will stop doing that now right because that deal was not brought up anywhere

Havent had this much anxiety since July 1st. I desperately want a 2-guard but not at the expense of Taj or Asik. I know standing pat would be frustrating but we need to stick to our guns....

The Bulls must really love guys that are never going to be more than 12-15 mpg players. I can understand not wanting to give up Omer but the guy doesn't play anyways and it's clear he won't the rest of the year. Are the Bulls really going to hold out on trading a guy that's never going to play heavy minutes for them when they have the opportunity to land a long term starting SG option?

Yay another uninformed fan! Rookie C how averages a double double with 2 blocks Per 36 is not terrible. It's called productive in small minutes.

KC Johnson on NBA TV....

Asked about SG... Says the Bulls refuse to give up Omer or Taj to get one.

Asked about the Bulls needing a better back up PG.... He is concerned that CJ Watson is not conducive to playoff basketball.

Said that Noah told him that he has to play more to get into game shape and was he gassed last night

Doesn't sound like anything is getting done.
