That has been my feeling every trade deadline/draft night since...forever.

Bring honest. If the trade is for Randolph, I'd pull the trigger. But dealing for someone simply to pull a trade? That's just not smart. We've pulled two big trades this year. The team has played together for only 30 games. Sure they blow right now, but there is enough talent in Orlando to get it together for April and May.

Didn't he get traded to Golden State? did I miss something?

yeah, but it's also a different circumstance... we do have needs to address... and uhh... i kind of want to make the team better so dwight doesn't leave us... so in 1 1/2 hrs the window is closed... on our championship hopes and probably our hopes of keeping dwight... sigh

Again...what is out there that changes this right now? Nothing. That time will come this summer or when the labor agreement is finalized

Upon further review, the call on the floor is this -- less Gilbert Arenas is a good thing for the Orlando Magic, regardless of what the Magic do or don't do today. Thoughts?

Zach McCann:
I don't know that less Gilbert is best for the Magic. They need to find a way to get some production out of him. But he's certainly not playing up to par at the moment.

anyway to rid ourselves of Arena's contract so we are in position to resign Howard and Paul next summer?

Zach McCann:
That Arenas contract is untrade-able... but even off the books, the Magic wouldn't have enough money to sign Paul. The magic are almost $40 million over the cap (and about $25 million over the luxury tax threshhold). [via

FINALLY some optimism on these forums. Let our team play some. We just need to figure it out. No doubt in my mind we can do it with this team. That doesn't mean it's going to happen. Last night, it was a lack of effort, which is somewhat expected right after the all star break from some players. But overall it has been chemistry which has only one solution: time.

Yeah. Otis is not perfect, but a lot of the crap he takes are unwarranted. People act as if he spent today sleeping in and then watch old Andy Griffith reruns.

Otis built a title contender in Orlando. He went all in on this team a few years ago, crapping out our cap space. There was no way he could have known then that the NBA would lose it'sa damn mind and superteams would start popping up out of the woodwork. Was every move perfect? Of course not. But, he had us like 2 games from a title and most of the moves he made that killed our cap space now are moves that were met with happiness by most of the fanbase at the time.

This is true, but look at the mess he has currently put us in.

Zach McCann:
I don't think Dwight was referring to Jameer in particular. Dwight was upset with all of the guys on the perimeter.

from Howard's comments last night, do you think when he said people need to sit, he was referring to Jameer? I feel like he wants Gil starting

[Comment From Ben Ben: ]
Assuming Troy Murphy gets bought out...are we a "lock" to get Murphy...I've read other teams are after him as well...many of which are our rivals in the east
Thursday February 24, 2011 1:58 Ben
1:58

Zach McCann:
Definitely not, Ben. Murphy will get interests from several other contenders, including the Knicks, Heat and Celtics. Assuredly, Otis has been talking with Murphy's people and will take that into account when weighing any trades this afternoon.

Josh Robbins:
I don't believe the Magic will get another big through a trade.

[Comment From DJRajX DJRajX: ]
So what was the real deal with Zach Randolph and Orlando? Was it purely just a rumor, or did it have any legs at all to begin with?

Where does tj ford end up after buyout?

Zach McCann:
Certainly not Orlando, Guest... the Magic are already paying point guards more than $30 million.
Thursday February 24, 2011 2:00 Zach McCann

Josh Robbins:
The Zach Randolph to Orlando rumor was a case of throwing something against the wall to see what stuck.

Zach Randolph rumor deader than a door nob

For what many would say is a worse contract.
