How did Juan Gonzalez's stats turn out? There's another player who was as good a player as baseball had for a few years.

He's right up there with Belle, Thomas and Griffey as one of the premiere sluggers of the 90's...and has comparable stats to Belle in terms of career SLG%, RBI's per at-bat and HR's per at-bat...

He was also a 2-time MVP...and had an impressive 3 year run from '96 to '98 when he averaged more than an RBI per game!


Offensively his only strike is that his career OB% is only .343%...but then Dawson was elected with a career mark of .323%

Albert Belle is something like 16th all-time in SLG% and lead all of baseball in RBI's and TOTAL BASES during the 1990's. According to Baseball Reference he AVERAGED 40 doubles, 40 HRs and 130 RBI over 162 games for his career! Do you think voters should be allowed to arbitrarily use career-ending injuries against some players and not others? Pucket was a first ballot Hall of Famer under similiar circumstances...
