Yeah, the only salary that would match is Daniels and he has to agree to make this move. Of course, we could always have a wink wink thing with him, buy him out and he goes back to Boston.

I've gone into full whore mode and am well contemplating staying up till the deadline (3 AM here).

AlexKennedyNBA As I wrote yesterday, the Hawks have floated Josh Smith in several trade scenarios to gauge interest. ATL asking for a lot in return though.

Interesting, maybe something happens around the draft if the Hawks get bounced without putting up much resistance.

We've also not got Hinrich there to put in a good word for Blatche as the centerpiece of the deal

Successful Trade Scenario: Trade ID #5865737

here is how it breaks down:
#1: wiz send: McGee, Mo Evans, Wiz 2011 #1 (top 5 protected 2011) and Atl #1 to Sactown for Cousins, Greene

#2: wiz send: Blatche, Bibby, and Josh Howard to Portland for Andre Miller (team opt) and Greg Oden (Qual Opt)

Wiz young core:
Wall/
Young/ Crawford
Greene
Cousins/Booker
Oden/Serephin

with Lewis, yi, thorton, miller

Cousins AND Oden? I'd go after 1 or the other - but not both.

Also, Greene is the guy Cousins got in a fight with recently. It might be better to pass on Greene.

Casspi might make more sense. Or just go with Lewis for now and address the future in the draft.

I didn't really want greene but he makes the salaries work. McGee only makes $1.6 to Cousins 3.3m. i didn't know if picks have $ value in trades so I threw in Evans and Green to make it work. I would rather have Casspi but I would think the Kings would want to keep him.

I might do McGee and Wiz (protected) and Atl #1's for Cousins.

I'f Oden from Portland doesn't work, then I'd rather send Bibby to LAL for Joe Smith (exp) and Devin Ebanks as a sf prospect.

I know most folks hate blatche, but he is a very skilled Odom-lite type of player. Passes well, rebounds well, and gets steals, and can score well around the basket. if he gets back under the basket and not jump shooting, then he would be more effective. He needs a brusing center next to him,... not a finesse guy like mcgee.

Memphis wanting to dump Thabeet was brought up in another thread. They seem to want a swingman and also could use some PF/C insurance in case they lose one or both of Randolph/Gasol.

Wizards trade: Blatche and Howard
Grizzlies trade: Thabeet and Henry

It's essentially the same salary-wise as if we traded Blatche for Thabeet+pick. I'd also include our second if they send General Greivis.

I would do McGee+expirings for Smith, easily.

Boston is apparently shopping Daniels and their pick for a swing man. We need to be all overthis, we have four small forwards on the roster and not enough minutes. If Mo friggin Evans can get you a first round pick, you do it.

I've watched virtually every Wizards game since Blatche has been here, and aside for 20 or so games at the end of last season when he was looking for an extension, Blatche has been an average to below average player. He is soft, lazy, is a horrible help defender, a below average rebounder and makes stupid decisions. He is still overweight and lacks conditioning even though he has been playing for 4 months now. There is a reason why the Wizards are not getting any offers for him. The entire league views him as a "one and fiver". Unfortunately, I think some Wiz fans overvalue him because we have no one else at the 4 spot, he has some crafty moves as a big man, and he is still fairly young. However, to me, I've seen enough of him to know that he is not a winner and likely will never be one.

I don't see them giving up a pick for Mo Evans, more likely for Josh Howard IMO.

I actually wouldn't mind a strategy of adding as much 2011-12 salary as we can, assuming we get picks for our trouble. Yi, Howard, Thornton, and Evans should all be shopped for players with one additional year left on their deals. Maybe even Nick Young now that we have Crawford.

Just read about McGee's shouting match with the coaches. Meh, I'm tired of his act too. Adn although Nick Young has improved, I'd rather roll with Jordan Crawford than commit to Young with a longterm deal.

Wiz trade: McGee, Blatche, Yi, and Young
Clippers trade: Kaman, Aminu, and future first (unprotected, payable in 2012 or 2013)

We give the Clippers some short-term salary relief and give them another high flyer to market. We get every past and present knuckle-head off the team and essentially receive two lottery picks.

Then we follow it up with this (structured as two separate deals):

Wiz trade: Bibby and Howard
Celtics trade: Nate, Daniels, Harangody, and 2011 first

Kaman/Seraphin
Lewis/Booker
Aminu/Thornton
Crawford/Evans
Wall/Nate

At team that still stinks but at least they'll try hard every night. Our 2012 cap space isn't affected and we continue to stockpile picks. If you take off the "let's overrate our own players" glasses, it's a pretty good scenario IMO.

Here you go:

During the game, center JaVale McGee got into a heated and emotional shouting match with Wizards assistant Randy Wittman, which required Blatche to step in to calm down McGee.

Midway in the third, McGee received a technical foul for standing in the lane for three seconds and Saunders immediately sat him in favor of Yi Jianlian.

An upset McGee cursed as he went to the sideline. He complained as he sat down, and Wittman and Saunders shouted back at him. After 76ers point guard Jrue Holiday scored to give his team a 71-57 lead with 6 minutes 6 seconds remaining, Saunders called timeout and McGee shouted toward the coaches who huddled on the court. Blatche walked up to McGee and put his hand on his chest to get him to relax.

Looks like All Star Weekend created a little diva attitude in Javale, huh?

Houston wants big for Courtney Lee. They also seem to be looking at PG options, possibly meaning they won't pay Aaron Brooks.

Wizards trade: Blatche and Bibby
Rockets trade: Miller, Jeffries, and Lee

I'd rather acquire a guy like Lee than commit to Young longterm.

...or brought it out more. I think what Wall and the coaches are doing now is basically giving him an intervention. We'll see if it takes.

McGee and Blatche cannot be off this team soon enough. . .

I'd rather have McGee out sooner than blatche at this point. Blatche has his problems, but he's not the worse big on this team. I've lost all faith in McGee at this point.

I agree 100%. Blatche has started passing again and isn't looking for his shot at all times. McGee is an incredibly selfish player who lives only to shoot and block shots. At least Blatche plays intelligently half the time which is about 50% more than Javale. McGee has off the charts athleticism but has the BBall IQ of a peanut.

Every player in the league has a moment like that. I don't think McGee will continue with that behavior. He's a space cadet at times but I don't read him as diva. I actually hope this focuses him towards doing what is asked.

McGee is the only difference maker the Wizards have in the middle. There is no way they will trade him for less than an allstar.
