The Lakers stand pat during the trade deadline

No trades were made in Laker land today. Luke Walton is still a Laker.

Thoughts?

Not really disappointed but I'm surprised at how little some of these teams had to give up to get players.

Apparently Mitch shopped the TPE and Luke Walton pretty heavily throughout the deadline but for better or worse nothing really materialized. Mitch just isn't the kind of GM that goes for the home run trade or gambles too much when there's a flurry of activity around the league.

Atleast I hope our guys play more confidently knowing they stay here atleast another 6 months.

Boston was playing well before the deadline and made a drastic change. LA plays erratic and stands pat but it seems that they've found their stride these past 2 games. I hope it continues.

It's only 2 games. I look forward to that roadtrip.

+1

I trust Mitch, I'm pretty sure if there was an offer that would have made us surely improve, he would have done it. We could have been more aggressive or taken a gamble but you don't do that with a championship team, and Mtich is not that kind of GM.

We don't need trades... we're the 2-time defending champs. The other teams have to make trades to beat us. Also, Mitch is probably busy talking to Dwight's realtor.

I been wondering about this for the last couple of years.

Are we sure he's not Phil Jackson's replacement next year? :D

Lakers just like to promote a little diversity in the work force.

i would prefer dragic to aaron brooks. especially for this season, brooks is permanently injured for the season and probably needs the off season to rest. he's shooting like .200 from the field

not surprised although I hope we are players in the "buy-out" pool, just some guys that could be bought out that we could use Parker/Gadz/Murphy, any of those 3 could be solid pick ups.

The one player I would have taken a good look at is Anthony Parker and he was pretty much available for the right offer. Probably some of the 2nd round picks we have stock piled would have got it done. I'd much rather see him than Shannon play bulk minutes at the back up 2.
