We need to start the rebuilding process now, another stupid contract won't help.

Maybe we could SnT him for a 1st round pick? It wouldnt be that bad.

We are in a tough spot with JRich. He is too good to let walk, but I'm not sure how he fits here long term. Hopefully he can be signed and traded in the offseason.

We really can't rebuild as long as we want to keep Dwight.

I'm surprised there were no JRich to Chicago rumors for essencially the same package Lee was rumored for plus maybe a pick.

Maybe we could sign some Hockey GM again to clear our cap space...

I don't think they can afford not to sign him. I've been saying this all day. If you let him walk, we are still at $74,816,623 in salaries next year with our only savings coming from not taking Earl's option, which we most likely will. The cap for this season is $58,044,000 and many think it's going down with the new CBA, who knows, but at this year's rate, we are still $16,772,623 over the cap. If you think this doesn't matter because RDV is willing to spend, you're wrong, because you can't sign FA players if you over the cap (well, you can exchange players and take on an addition 125k I believe). So in order for us to get to the point where we could even sign a scrub FA, we'd have to shed 20 mil in salaries.

That is either:

a) Arenas
b) D12 + Duhon
c) Turk, JJ, Duhon
d) Nelson, Bass, Duhon, Q. Rich, Clark, Anderson

That's on top of letting J. Rich go.

If you want to start rebuilding, trade Dwight. Unless you are confident he's going to stay here without a superstar with him, cause it's not financially possible to get one unless we somehow resign Richardson and use him as part of a deal.

That's what Jason Whitlock is reporting.

Two large pizzas were also involved, but they went missing when Otis left Whitlock in the room with them unsupervised. Otis is an idiot.

Quick question. I know it doesn't fit here, but whatever. How far into the future can you trade your draft picks? Like can you trade a 2030 1st round pick?

To my knowledge, no rule is in place. So as far in the future as people will accept. Not sure why a GM would do it though when they would likely be fired by the time they got the pick.

With Brooks going to Phx, and if Nash really is available around draft/summer time, then Otis needs to get him.

I haven't looked at this rule in forever but I know there was a timestamp a couple CBAs ago.

Exactly, Otis traded a first rd pick in 2156 in the deal for CP3, Kobe and Camby.

I by no means think he's done a good job, but not just pulling a deal for the sake of pulling a deal was one of the few things he's done well.

If he did that, I would write him a letter begging him to forgive me for all the bad things I've said. I just can't believe that he is that much of an idiot to not make another minor tweak. Maybe he honestly tried hard, but if that is so, and he failed, then that effing sucks.
