Nazr is better than either White or Mo Pete.

I love this trade. When people on other boards talk about "consolidating pieces for immediate help" while trying to trade us old crap for James Harden, this is what I think of instead. We give an expiring and a mediocre prospect for immediate help.

I think this is the better deal. We're giving up 2 players, 1 who is usually 12th man on the bench and another a suit guy.

Nazr hopefully will get some backup minutes against the bigger team while aiding Aldrich progress.

Nazr was a member of the 2005 Spurs Championship team. Presti was still with the spurs then, so he is familiar with him.

Didn't realize nazr had championship exp as well. Good thing presti remember. Good insurance for Perkins this season.probably a solid vet as well if presti know him from before.

I think presti is not human or he got incriminating pictures of all other gms.

Nazr is probably as good or better than Krstic on his own.

At the very least he'll be a good mentor to Aldrich
Not a bad destination for Krstic/green as well.
Just hope white and mo pete get some playing time to remain in the league after this season.

Nazr is still very good. I'm biased since I'm a bobcats fan, but dude was the best center we've had (including Tyrus Thomas and Okafor) over the past 2 or 3 years. Very good midrange jump shot, great off of the midrange pick and pop, still rolls well to the basket, plays pretty good defense. he's definitely an upgrade over mo pete and dj white, that's for sure

Nazzy is serviceable and should give you some good spot mins.

Positives:
- He does have a very nice mid range J.
- Pretty low maintenance and happy to play a role (so long as he gets 15 or so mins per game).
- Pretty serviceable rebounder so long as the ball is in his area.
- Vet experience

Negatives:
- Very, very slow
- Reaction time (especially on D) is very poor
- Poor hands
- Needs to be shooting the ball to be effective (needs touches)

All in all though he will give you a nice contrasting look at the C spot against the D of Perkins. That's how we used him - as a compliment in spot mins to Kwame.

I think he fits your team very nicely. Well done!

Man. The biggest memory of Nazr I have was on this team, in the last two games the Sonics played the Spurs in the second round he killed Jerome James. Just out worked him to every rebound, got put back layups that were demoralizing, etc. I've always had a respect for Nazr's game since then. He's probably lost a few steps since then, but still. I like this deal a lot.

My thoughts to a "T" Slick. I gained a ton of respect for Nazr during that series too. Like you I question how much spring he still has in his legs but playing behind Perkins going against second unit guys he should fair pretty well.

The Presti Spurs connection was the first thing I thought of. I think he will be a Kurt Thomas type player for the Thunder.

Does anyone know if Nazr will be available for the Magic game tonight?

It could get ugly at center if he's not.

Where's Dream Catcher with the Cole Aldrich reference?

Trial by fire baby. It's not like he will be going up against the leagues most dominating center.....oh wait.

We have Mullens too, we're set.

from twitter (Mike Cranston): "Higgins says Joel Przybilla will arrive in CLT Sat. DJ White later today, but Nazr won't be in OKC in time for White to be eligible tonight"

So I guess it is a longshot for Nazr playing tonigh - I know the games don't start at the same hour but I doubt that would changy anything.

Well you can check Nazr here: http://twitter.com/NazrMohammed

I don't really see the point purely from a basketball perspective, but there certainly would be other reasons to sign him which I think only the players and coach can really speak to.

Um, why? Then you have to pay the rest of his contract. actually I don't think you even have the option unless he's bought out.
