Hi everyone! I am new to realgm and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I am a teacher who lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and I am going to be taking a road trip to Toronto next week with my Fiancée. This will be our first time visiting Canada and we are very excited to experience Toronto. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for us or any suggestions on what to do in Toronto. We will be in town from Friday March 4th to Sunday March 6th.
I've never seen an NHL hockey game live before and I do not have a team that I can say that I root for. I decided that I want to be a Toronto Maple Leafs fan! I see that the Maple Leafs will be in town on Saturday playing against the Chicago Blackwaks and I have all Chicago sports teams! How hard will it be to get tickets? I've been searching on line at places such as Ticketmaster and stubhub and I can't seem to find any good deals on tickets. I've been doing some research and I see that the Air Canada Center has standing room only tickets. Is it easy to scalp tickets before the game? If so, how much money should we expect to spend?
Thanks for everyone’s help!

I'm wondering if anyone can offer me some advice. I saw that my post was viewed 20 times, but nobody cared to leave a post. I know there is some heated exchanges between the Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors fan boards, but I come in peace. I really want to go to a Maple Leafs game and I anyone's help would be greatly appreciated!

its not a knock to you. this is a really quiet board.
i'd post in OT Canada instead.
finding Leafs tickets is normally difficult and a total ripoff (IMO). bad news for you: some fans may honestly think a playoff run is coming, so they may be hesitant to sell their seats.
you can try craigslist (at your own risk) and i have no clue about stubhub. if i were you, i would book a reservation for dinner at RealSports. That way, if you can't get tickets, you can watch the game in an insane environment.
i'm a food dude, so if you like good restos, let me know. otherwise, for tourist things, i am the wrong guy (unless you hate touristy things)

Leafs tickets would probably be hard to get and really expensive...
As mentioned you should look at the OT Canada board for stuff do in Toronto. You could go to the Hockey Hall of Fame and check out the Stanley Cup!

You can scalp them. Be cautious about haggling though... people generally will pay a lot because there are a lot of dumb, rich, fans.

Leaf tickets are incredably easy to get - if you have money.
Just got to the arena 30 minutes before the game, and there will be dozens of people selling tickets at all price points, from very expensive to extremely expensive (especially as it's against an original six team). Scalpers are big business in Toronto.
Tickets will probably range from about $100 (for last row purples, standings may be cheaper) to your firstborn son (for rails).
As for other things to do, that depends on what you're interested in. Namely: anything. Great live theatre scene (and some fantastic foreign/art house movie theatres). Fantastic museums (ROM, Bata Shoe, Science Centre, etc...) and art galleries (AGO). Really funky neighbourhoods (Toronto is a walking city. Walk around it. And historical districts (Distillery District is a must see, especially if the weather is nice).
Have fun!

i don't agree. its too big to be a walking city.
Amsterdam's a walking city.
Prague is a walking city.
Paris is a walking city.
Toronto is a "buy a weekend pass for the TTC" city.
