Amare gone. Lou gone. JRich gone. Goran gone.

Sad to think back to last year's great playoff run thinking of Amare dropping 42 in game 3 on the lakers Goran dropping 24 in game 3 against the Spurs Lou bringing the hustle and energy night in night out despite his flaws, Jrich being the heart and soul and barometer of this team.

ugh....

6'0 aaron brooks.

Life as a suns fan...what a ride....down in the dumps.

If Brooks leaves this offseason we gave away dragic for nothing and wasted a pick.

Dang it this team better draft a star or two ASAP. I'm tired of this

SO my understanding is..

Rox has an offer from Blazers of a 1st rounder(s) for Brooks... then Wolves rang too... Rox told them what Blazers has and that Rox likes that deal....

then Suns rang and offered Dragic and a lottery protected first.... Rox replied with wanting Gortat... Suns said Nope....

Rox then traded Battier for Thabeet.... so Rox rang Suns back up and accepted the Dragic and 1st pick for Brooks... whilst Blazers probably waited til the very last minute for a ring back... although they were busy with Bobcats anyways.

Was Dragic always on the trading block?... because thats a HUGE surprise.. almost as much of a surprise as the Deron Williams bit.. except only for Suns fans.

Man I would've loved to have landed Millsap here for Lopez and Pietrus.

Of course we don't find a way to get that done. That's where you throw in the 1st round pick to seal the deal.

stupid front office.

Millsap and Gortat and Frye would've been three solid front court pieces that all you need is an all star talent to accompany that with and you're set down low.

after I watched what dragic did against spurs last year, i am pretty thrilled about the trade. I think this is a trade that will benefit both parties.

Brooks needs the starting spot after nash retires, he will be back to the player he was last year. Don't worry about resigning him. He is restricted, so you guys gets to keep him for sure. After this horrible season he had, he will be pretty cheap when he resigns. The dude can score, hit threes, he is not afraid of taking shots. He is also lightning fast. This year, he had an ankle injury, and was never 100%. You guys will like him.

the rockets needed a pg off the bench to lead the second unit. Brooks is more capable of starting. No one thought about lowry would take over brooks' starting spot. It happened, so thats why there is this trade.

I am looking for Jarhead. Send me pm if you know where he is. Thanks in advance.

I love....and hate reading Traxxe's info.

Looks like this is the end of the road for Nash in Phoenix, indeed. Can't believe we're going to trade him for picks in a relatively crappy draft.

The fact that Gerald Wallace was available for an expiring and draft picks and the Suns didn't jump on it like Portland is baffling. I mean they must be certain Trpy Murphy is gonna join them after his buyout. That's the only thing that would make sense.

Traxxe wrote:Just got back from a meeting. This decision was not in the works when I left at 12 CST. The first is lottery protected. Will swap to the Orlando pick if we miss the playoffs. Brooks wanted out and Houston contacted us. Dragic didn't step on glass and that's all I'll say about that.

This was a smart move. We intend to trade Nash before/during the draft and will deal lopez possibly as well. We also will bundle whatever first we have. We want to get into the low lotter and want about 10-12 to grab Jimmy.

Nash wants one last run with the Suns. He asked to be traded. His statement is BS. His agent made known his wishes and when Nash said he didn't talk to his agent, that was BS. It's something agents do. They take the heat for things like this and when the player says 'I didn't say that' it's the agents job to save them face and swallow it.

Nash will take us into the playoffs. We have two point guards we want in this draft. Aaron will hold the fort until they are ready to take over. We want a top ten pick for nash, our pick, and maybe Lopez. Then we will get a big with that.

Good stuff Traxxe. I hope the people that see Jimmer Fredette are not thinking of him as a pure point guard. The guy can shoot the ball though.

As for the trade, I think its a good one. Dragic regressed terriblyy. The plus minus of the second unit is horrible. When I look, usually double digit negatives. This draft stinks - so I think its a solid move.

I have no problem with trade Nash this summer, even Lopez since the team has Gortat. But the key thing is to have major cap space after the new CBA. Off the top of my head, in the summer of 2012: Pietrus, Hill, Carter and Nash will be off the books. And if Nash is traded, maybe another contract, like Lopez or Warrick go with it. John Hollinger thinks the Suns could be in on Deron Williams if they have the cap space.

I have faith in the Suns if Sarver is writing the checks and Babby/Blanks are making the moves.

Thanks for the info. But can you tell me what two PGs we want in the draft? Also how close were we to trading for Milsap?

Thanks!

Could this have been the 3 team trade that wasn't made?

Or have we found out what the was going to be?

MrMiyagi wrote:This was not the trade to make. Brooks is a nice player, probably better than Dragic at this point, but I liked Dragic's versatility. He's been running our second unit when he's more of a 2 guard. I think we should have held on to him, perhaps pick up a point in the draft, and then moved him over. Plus there is the chance another team makes an offer we don't want to match.

It's not a bad trade per se, but it wasn't the right move IMO.

When you see what the Suns got for Amare; the Cavs for LeBron; the Raptors for Bosh - being proactive is not a bad thing. I have no idea what team he would go to - as for sure he would want a contender. So, remains to be seen the team. Maybe the Mavericks agin.

When it boils down to it, who else really fits Nash at this juncture in his career? We all know where he's headed. NY. It makes sense given that they have their cap locked up in Melo and Amare, so they need a cap friendly PG. He'll make a run at a title with them for a year, then NY will try to sign CP3, which I still don't see how it's possible cap-wise.
