Really who the hell do you want to draft this is the worse draft class that I can remember I would rather make the playoffs and let this pick go to Minny and have our pick back next year hoping itsa deeper class of better players?

I agree completely here

A lotto pick is a lotto pick. Maybe you could package them together to get a top 3 pick or a player? Or maybe you actually take the pick and get lucky with the guy you pick up. Just because it's a "weak" draft doesn't mean it won't produce any good players. It's a future asset which will get you something.

I never buy into the idea of "weak" drafts, its a stupid cop out organizations use to justify not getting one of the quality players the other teams got.

NBA article about the new Jazz

http://www.nba.com/2011/news/02/24/new- ... index.html

Some excerpts...click the link for the full article.
Despite Jerry Sloan's abrupt retirement two weeks ago and Williams' stunning trade to the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday, Jazz officials insist they are not in a rebuilding mode.

"We're excited about the guys we're picking up and believe they have an opportunity to make us great, as well as the (two) first-round picks we're (acquiring)," Jazz CEO Greg Miller said of point guard Devin Harris and 6-10 rookie Derrick Favors. "I think we'll be competitive for the next several years until we see how the trade pans out."

I tend to agree. Favors adds a new dimension, and it's not like Devin Harris is garbage. This is a very solid NBA player. We may end up in the lottery this year, but I'd be very surprised to see us there net year.

Wait, doesn't our pick go elsewhere this year? I wouldn't mind playing tons of youngsters and tanking next year to get yet another pick.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

This team is not bad enough to tank. All they did was down grade from one super star to one all star and a unknown. They owe Minnesota a protected pick. Just give it to them this year and always try to win. The team has very few players who aren't possibilities for the future, and the ones that are aren't much better than the young guys right now.

Found a video of Fes and the 3 rookies shoot-around drill before the Pacers game.

Evans has a nice stroke and can shoot so he's not just a dunker. Not sure why he doesn't get any PT. :(
