Bobcats New Depth Chart

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Fri Feb 25, 2011 12:13 am

PG: DJ - Liv - Tank
SG: Hendo - Hammer - MoPete
SF: Jax - UPS - Brick
PF: Boris - T2 - White - Eddie - Cunningham
C: Kwa-Man - Pryz - Gana

Obviously there are two too many so two have to be bought out.

Considering Tank and UPS earn the least (400k and 750K) is it safe to assume it would be them? That would leave:

PG: DJ - Liv
SG: Hendo - Hammer - MoPete
SF: Jax - Brick
PF: Boris - T2 - White - Eddie - Cunningham
C: Kwa-Man - Pryz - Gana

Also to note: This means we will only have ONE center under contract when the next season starts - and that center is Gana. We are obviously going to have to do something about that!!

Discuss.

Marks used to be a solid energy big off the bench, but I think he's been a bit banged up and is getting a little old. I'm not sure how effective he can be.

If we are still trying for the playoffs, we might need Pryz to play out the rest of the season.

Can't see MJ being willing to fork over all that cash to buy Pryz out - and even if he did, I can't see them being comfortable going into the season with only one healthy C on the roster.

If Joel retires as has been rumored, we won't have to pay him anything. He might also take a very small buyout just so he can go back to Portland.

If Joel does stay, I see McGuire gone. I think center depth keeps Marks here and Najera/White/someone can play a few SF minutes if necessary. Jackson is going to get his 40mpg now and Cunningham will get the rest so we don't need depth at that position.

McGuire needs to be gone for sure. Either Joel or Marks will be gone. The rest, I hope, stay.

I'm only going off rumours off this forum, so don't take it as gospel

Interesting that LB benched Hendo so much and loved playing UPS. Silas is the opposite. And MJ waives UPS. More going against the "wisdom" of LB.

The only 2 confirmed waived are Tank and Brick.

Anyone else think we need another pg?

I want Tank back. He was the only bobcat who had a worse height to weight ratio than me.

I never liked McGuire. I'm upset that I didn't know we could rid ourselves of him so easily. Why wasn't he waived before?

I think the mentioning of only waiving Dom and Collins has to do with only the Crash trade. The others are likely due to the Nazr trade, at least what the team will say. MJ is just trimming off the fat to finish the year.

I hope Livo's knee holds up. I'm guessing he is going to be getting a bit of playing time, possibly at the 2 as well

Well I think the issue is that this trade was just approved by the NBA (salary cap checking) so they probably aren't announcing the other waivers until the OKC trade is confirmed. That makes perfect sense.

My guess is that Przy won't report, will "retire" or get bought out for a miniscule amount and return to Portland in 30 days.

I guess we hold on to Marks for depth.

Things will be a LOT easier when Tyrus comes back.

That would make Kwa-Man our only healthy center.

That would be bad.
